Hi everyone, My name is Eddie Bell and I am 47 years old, I have been a welder since 1984. I currently TIG weld aluminum fuel tanks for Damiler Benz North America ( Freightliner) I have been pressure washing part time since 1991 and about 6 years ago I started installing restaurant hoods and doing restaurant fire suppression, which led me into the wonderful world of hood cleaning. I have learned a lot and I take pride in doing a good job. I enjoy dealing with the owner operators of the small time restaurants in my area and since I am a part timer I respect the Hoodcleaners in my area that do good work and have recently given some of my accounts away. I just keep enough work to have my play money. I install about 4 hood systems a year and do about 2-5 hoodcleanings a month and maybe 10 houses a year. When I bought my rig I started doing 5 Mcdonalds and 4 Chick-fil-a's every month until I paid it off. That was a little more than I could handle when my welding job picked up so I gave those jobs to a friend. I look foward to getting to know you guys and hope I can contribute some of what I have learned while learning from ya'll. Most of the hoods I clean, I also installed. I have 1 Hotsy 20 hp skid 1270ss and an older 16hp 1260. I plan to keep the 1260 and sell the 1270ss and the trailer. I just don't need all this equipment. I originally bought it because I thought I was going to go full time when our plant went to Mexico but some of our jobs went but, thankfully there are some companies that want there trucks built in te U.S. BUY AMERICAN PRODUCTS I don't want to have to compete with you guys everyday! lol.

Welcome to PWI.

Have you thought about making your own aluminum fuel tanks for pressure washers? There might be a demand for them, the larger like from 10 to 30 gallon so guys don't have to fill up every day. Just an idea since you have experience welding aluminum.

If you are open to it, there might be guys here that need stuff made out of aluminum since you have the skills.

I agree with you Chris. I bought a 18 gallon gas tank from Northern Tool just so I don't have to carry gas cans around. Between 18 gallons of gas and 50 gallons of propane I can run my unit 13 or 14 hours nonstop.

I think you could get some business from here Eddie. Especially since you build tanks for Freightliner.

Thanks for the response, Its pretty cool to be on a board with someone whose was just in Salisbury this week doing work. Aluminum parts and containers is a great idea, never really thought of that. I would be concerned however of the liability in dealing with the sale of fuel tanks. I will check on this and post at a later date. I have thought about building me a large tank inside of my trailer with a spout on the outside so I don't have to carry the 5 gallon containers in a spill gas or kerosine ( just wouldn't want to put gas in the kerosine spout) LOL... yeah, another idea WARNING lables. and a book, pressure washing for dummies. Thanks again everyone.

Aaron, Thats pretty cool that we are both on here. I may be able to send some work your way, I don't take every job that comes my way especially in the winter months. I'll call you sometime and maybe I can get an idea of what type of cleaning you do.
