New to the Business

Hello everyone. I have been reading post here for a while now and I enjoy everyone's insight on the many topics concerning the Pressure Washing Business. I have been doing side jobs for a while and am now interested in starting a full / part time pressure washing service. I already have some equipment, and I have some experience from doing decks, sidewalks, homes and more. I guess what I am looking for is the next step. There are many books, cd's and video's out there to choose from on how to start your own small pressure washing business so I am looking for any suggestions from you all, the Pro's! Thanks in advance for your time if responding to this thread. I will check back often.

Hey Mike,

If you would like my advice, talk to a pro that's been doing it for a while. The books may work for some but nothing can help you as much as working with someone who's actually done it themselves for many years. Give someone a call and ask questions... Just make sure it's someone that's far out of your area. If possible, go visit them for a few days and work for free!

If you want, give me a call. I'm sure I could help you out.

In a few short months, the PWNA will be in Ohio (march 2005). There you will be able to soak up as much infomation as you can handle.

Thanks to Henry & Mike for responding to my post.

Mike I would be interested in getting more informtion from the PWNA and I will look into checking out the Columbus Convention. Thanks for the LINK.

Henry, thanks for the offer. Unfortunately Maryland is a little far away for me to travel at this time due to a full time job, but I do agree with you. Learning from a skilled pro is far better then any book someone can read. I was just hoping to find something that would explain more of the "business" part of pressure washing (estimates, forms, record keeping, taxes, ect) I would also jump on any chance to get some hands on experience from a pro, but respect others to much to stick my hands out asking for freebies.

Anyone else who has suggestions or comment for someone looking to get started, I thank you in advance. Thanks again to Henry and Mike also.
