New Toy!

I just picked up a Landa SDHW6-35824E with the three-cylinder Lombardini LDW903 diesel engine. It is currently inoperable, but I'm hoping to change that! I've been planning on going all diesel for some time. This wasn't exactly the plan, but the opportunity arose. I've got a decent diesel shop here in town (not a landa or lombardini specialist, but...), but I was hoping to overhaul this thing personally to learn more about it in the process.
I'm familiar w/ all of the non-engine components and I think tuning that up will be a breeze. The engine, on the other hand, is missing some parts and has a few issues. Has anyone had any experience getting parts and info from lombardini and kohler diesel?

Call John Tornabeni he owned one.

Hey Kyle-- when I had a Lombardini Diesel PW this is the place I used to take my engine to. Whatever parts I needed they always were able to get them and ship them out. This is there website http://www.repowerinc.com/welcome.html
I'm hitting a blank what the owners name is but he always was in there with his dog and staff.
As for your engine look for the manual on line. You might be able to download it for free or a small fee so you can see all the parts.
You could say John from Clean County PW from Long Island with the flatbed PW truck recommended you but that's if you get the owner on the phone which is slim to none.
Good Luck.

John, I appreciate the reference. Kohler is in Atlanta and that's a little closer to me. Do you no longer run your diesel landa?
Jay, what machine are you running and what are the specs?
Anyone know the formula for diesel capacity? This is supposed to be a 23-24hp motor. It has 120v heater, 5.2gpm, and 3500psi. We reclaim water, so the gpm is just about right, but I'd be interested in 8gpm...
We clean hoods and that typically requires an hour or less run time on the pw so gas better fits our needs. We've been doing a lot of flat work for our restaurant customers and I figured diesel would be a way to go. Then, we landed a hood at a horse track and they asked if we could help them maintain the sidewalks around the red clay track... If I get this running, that will be its duty.
I just finished disassembling it. I was going to re-powder coat it, but was informed our kit is busted, and it's too expensive to have done. Glad I hadn't started sanding yet! Hopefully before tomorrow is over I'll have replaced all electrical connectors, bolts, belts, hoses, and cleaned it up and have everything (except the motor) reinstalled.
There are some things Landa does that I really like...then, there are some things I despise! This was military "surplus" that sat in the weather for a while, so I guess no matter how Landa does things, you just can't prepare equipment for that!

What parts do you need for it? Also is compression uniform? The 903 is actually a marine diesel engine that they have used for alot of applications over the years. I have a guy who works for me who is actually certified to work on diesels and specificly Lomarbi's that he picked up in the military. E-mail me and I will send you his contact info.

I don't know much about that engine but I would hesitate with putting time and money into the peripherals until I was plenty sure the heart was still going to be pumping for me.

The machine only has 100 hours on it, so I'm hoping for the best. But, if the engine proves useless, I'll load a old Honda on it and still come out ahead. The heater works, generator appears to put out 120v (not sure of wattage), and the pump looks solid and will be tested tomorrow.

Hey Kyle-- I sold the lombardini diesel engine setup that was put together by Silver Eagle
http://www.semfg.com/hot_water_diesel_driven.html. Great engine. I sold it because I needed the money to buy a flatbed truck. One of the guys on this bb bought it.. Great engine that Kohler bought out so the service you should be able to get from Atlanta Kohler should be good.
