New Wood On Flatbed and Mounting PW

Thanks for sharing the pictures.

I did not think that an engine lift would lift a skid up that high, I was thinking about buying one to move rigs from trailers to trucks since I don't have an "A" frame with chain hoist.

That is a good idea.

Did you pre-drill the boards then use self tapping screws into the metal?

Thanks.

Chris, the engine hoist will get you almost there and then it takes 4 men to pull it all the way up and on... Once its on you can move it around on the bed pretty easily. (Def need chains and straps)

Also, kinda dangerous... last time I did it on my Dodge I almost lost a pressure washer when a strap snapped... I had to pay a couple day laborers that just happened to be driving by a $20 bill to hop out the truck and help us lift it up before I lost a unit.

This time it went smooth. But I still like to do all the work myself because these pressure washing distributors in AZ suck in my opinion, they over charge for everything! They want $85.00 an hr and I just hired my neighbors to help me for $200 flat 2 days of work. Also, it is more fun to know that you did everything yourself...

We just screwed the screws down through the frame from the top of the wood. It was a total of 316 screws!! Almost as expensive as the wood. I don't know much about the screws but my neighbor has done this type of work a bunch of times and he helped me get the right ones.

Ill get you the after pictures of how we set it up and plumb it...

I have a hideaway lift gate and its a great thing to have saves your back but it does add weight to the truck and drops the mpgs.Az truck is looking great with that new wood on it.

Ty, take the equipment off that Wood, lay a 1/4 or 3/16 diamond plate steel paintedor ryno coated over the and then mount everthing back on. That stuff will not stay mounted on that wood very long. Leave the wood under the diamond plate. Treat it....this is AZ wood unless pressure treated will not last in water more than two years tops. The chems will break it down even quicker.

Please do not be offended by my observation , That trailer your selling me will go straight to steel Place. 225.00 1/4 inch diamond. They straight to get Sand Blasted 75.00 then painted with Non Grindable paint ( aircraft Carrier ) 180.00

Then the hubs will be redone races and packed. Rewired new harness then the mounting begins. When I post the photo you will not even think its the same trailer. I'll save 700

Or get Apitong wood for the floors. It works so much better then pine. Also, rhino lining on the wood is the bomb. I would rather spend twice as much now, then spend it three times later.
