Noise, won't start

Do the plugs have spark? Are the plugs clean? I don't hear anything that sounds abnormal. Must've posted the same time as Ted.

You guys can't hear that hard clicking noise as it tries to turn over? You can actually feel it on the chassis. I have had fuel and spark issues before, but never heard or felt anything like that

Pull the plugs and stick a screwdriver in the hole. Turn the engine slowly to see if both pistons are moving.

The starter doesn't sound great either.

Might check to see if the flywheel is where it's supposed to be.

Thanks guys! I will try all that later today or tomorrow morning.

The lesson validated is to always have backups. The guys just had to swap trucks and go back out on the road again. Only lost about 20 minutes.

Like Ron told me on the phone this morning, the money they made with the backup truck today can pay for a new motor if needed.

Always have backup. A craigslist rig and an old truck can be had for less money than you can make in two days work.

OK, the noise is the starter popping in and out. Also some gunk in the fuel line before the filter. Cleared that up.

I am sure it will start now.

What about that starter popping in and out. Do I need to worry about that?

Does your battery have a good charge on it?

If it's not the battery, you may very well be worrying about it soon.

I will charge the battery and see what happens. Text me the damage Russ.

Sounds like a turkey call! I always just clean all the connections involved, good wire scrub, can't even count how many times it's fixed something 12v.
