Northstar/Comet Pump

I am considering replacing my Cat pump model 55 with a northstar/Comet Model 779536. The pump specs is 7 gpm @ 4000 psi. My Cat is 5gpm @3000 psi.

I am running a Kubota ZB600c Diesel engine.

1) Is the Kubota big enough to hand the Comet.
2) Will the Comet increase the effectiveness of my surface cleaner to offset the cost of the pump.

I mainly do fleet work, about 140 trucks a month. I know the increased GPM would help in that area I am curious of what it will do for the surface cleaner, I have 24 inch mosmatice and a turbo twister gas powered.

Are the Comets very reliable. My Cat pump has never let down.

Thanks

The Powerwash store has a big sale on pumps right now, the Legacy brand. Check out the thread. If I needed one right now, I would buy one of them.

Patrick i would go in between what you have an what you mentioned.Like a 6@3600 that way you have more volume for the trucks and still have pressure for surface cleaner etc. Also when you get time go to the jeep place up there an tell them to hurry up on my rubicon lol.

Look at the AR XWA-M7g4000..
dual-feed it,
run it at whatever volume the Hp can handle..
(probably 5.6gpm) at 3600-4000psi,
and it will live for MANY years.
a smaller pump won't live as long, since the larger pump flows water easier without cavitation,
and parts are about the same price.
before you buy a pump.. ALLways check parts pricing..
you might change your mind.

Also..
that particular AR pump has huge thorofares in the check-valves..
..that flows better than other brand pumps too.
