On and off heat

Have a landa PGDC and when running for more than about 20-25 my heat goes off. Have this in a 6x10 inclosed trailer, side door and back ramp wide open with a roof vent but nothing moving air through the unit. I can walk over, and shut the burner off then back on and i will get heat again for a bit then gone again. To me i believe its just getting so hot in the trailer that its shutting the thermostat off but just looking to see if there is something else major that may be going on or its just simply too hot? Any insight, thoughts would be useful! Machine has about 4 hrs of use on it as of today.

Enclosed trailers are good for cold months but to much trouble in summer months without proper ventilation. I agree with Ted, Thermostat. Wish I could be more help!

The themostate is in the line of the water and it may have went bad causing it to cut off.I think you have something else causing the problem i dont think its because its inside the trailer.Just my thoughts because that bulb on the end of that wire is screwed inside water runs across try changing it out an see what happens.

fuel filter

Maybe debris in tank that gets sucked onto fuel line. When you shut off it falls away, had that happen before. When burner goes out pull the fuel line (burner off) off filter and see if theres diesel in the line. Filters can suck air sometimes, especially the plastic ones.

can you give me little more description of where this is at? mechanically inclined but first time with PW...and this equip is brand new with 4 hours so i hope that something isnt broke already after the money i dropped on it.

I have been paying attention to the fuel and its a see through filter so there is fuel in the line so thats what has been leading me to thermostat.

You will soon learn Randy that it doesn't matter if the unit has 5 hours on it or 5000 hours on it stuff can and will break on them unfortunately. I would think if it's the thermostat though it would shut off sooner than 20 or 25 minutes. I would clean the fuel filter and blow out the line to start off with.

I had a landa that gave me same problem. I called Landa and they informed me to remove the photo sensor in the burner unit. Just twisted the wires together with wire nut. Never had any more problems.

Turning it on and off fixing the problem indicates that this is probably not a thermostat. The thermostat being mechanical would not be affected by the machine's on/off status.

The fuel filter is a good theory, turn the machine off the fuel pump stops and anything in the lines or what ever would fall back for a bit.

Here is what I would do, charge your battery on the machine via a charger and see if your problem goes away.

battery will check tonight...set up a nice redneck rigged exhaust on the burner to pull the heat out of the trailer too....hopefully its something simple :D
