Hey fellow pressure washers I have never run an ad in the phone book before, never had to word of mouth and flyers and referrals have always worked in the past but I have recently moved and having trouble getting steady work. What type of ad should I run 1 line, Small Box,Large Box, 1/4 page Ad? What has worked best for you all and what is most cost effective in each of your opinions?:confused:

I have run small and big ads.
No comparasion, run a big one.
You want to match your competitors ad for ad.
Don't get cheap and deceive yourself into thinking a little ad is "just as good".
It is, ONLY if there are no big ads.
 
Had a half page add, it was the worst return out of all my advertising in 15 years.
 
I put a small ad in the book here ad have only gotten four calls in 4 months. Three of them were doing comparison price shopping. The other was a PM for a large condo wanting a bid on a 6 story parking garage and two 6 story condos. If I get that one the ad was worth it, so far it wasn't.
 
The phone book is just for your current customers, if they loose your business card and need to call you. But this year the phone book in so small I'm the only one under pressure washing and roof cleaning so I'm loving all the calls!
