has anybody tried heating the water in your buffer tank to 125 deg or so to raise your finnal water temp?

I think it could help out when say you only have a 500,000 btu burnner and your running 8gpm.

What about a heat exchangerwith the engine exhaust? I think some carpet cleaning rigs have them, don't know if it would be worth it or not but seeing that cherry red exhaust all night I always wondered. Or, is the exhaust hot enough to split water into H and O and burn that in the engine for semi-perpetual pressure washing power?

I think the packings will self destruct if under pressure at 125-130 degree water but thats just my experiences. I have actually hooked up to a hot water outlet at a restaurant and then had the burner all the way up as well. The machine only puts out 2200psi now and either the packings or plungers are toasted from that

This is a way to boost your temp especially in very cold weather. I have had my sub contractor do it to his all American. His boiler is 580,000 BTU's. He ran his unit preheating his 350 gallon water tank to 120 degrees. He was able to hit 230 degrees but only till his water supply was empty.

When doing this method, you can not run cold water into your holding tank that was pre heated. By doing this, you will lower your Pre Temp in your holding tank quickly and thus your temp out put will be affected quicker than you think.

If you hit 230 your higher, your pressure will degrease as well do to the expansion of the steam. we will cover this at the Las Vegas Round Table.
