After doing three of these im starting o get the hang of it. But the big problem I'm having is in getting rid of the build up on one of them. Its a qtr inch thick in some spots. And 250the degreeheat, 4000 psi with a surface cleaner and powerstroke wont cut it. Ive looked into @ a companycalled KML that specializes in paint booth maintenance and they are sending me samples to try. @a this point ill try anything. Does anyone here have experiance with this work? Last job i did the owner paid 200.00 for the job and was as happy as a pig in slop. I wasnt though. But im kinda a perfectionist. There's got to be a way to get better results. And it has to be a chem solution to the problem. This is good work that has to be done on a regular basis. At least ever three or four months. So getting it right and building a return customer base is vital. No one else around here is doing this work and i may have found my nich market.

You might consider a strong graffit remover. Give Urban restoration a call and ask for Adam. The do make what I consider to be the Worlds best graffiti removers. And I have tried most, if not all of them.

I'm actually meeting with Adam next Monday for some 1 on 1 training/demonstrations on their products. Real nice guy and a great company to deal with.

@ Doug...lol went stright to the hand granade after the first ten min. Helps but wont get it.@a Scott ....thanks will give em a call. Samples from KML are on the way. Soon as i figure out how to post pics to theboard from my droid i'll show the results.

@ Vince mention that to him please. I'd be really interested in what he has to say. Main problem is some of these guys just dont clean & maintain thier booths regularly. If they did it'd be easy. The low spots come up with no problem. It 's the high spots, thick areas that are the problem. And then there's pricing to consider....last customer forked over two hundred with out blinking. Another might not go for that.

No problem Lee. I'll talk to Adam about this when I see him on Monday and get back to you sometime Monday evening.

Baking soda?
Wouldn't. That require a sand blaster attatchemnt for the washer? I'd considerd it but i have nothing left to invest in equipment or any thing else. Im barly scraping by. Im not sure. The chemicals from KML are over a bill & qtr each for 5the gal. Not sure thats going to be cost effective unless i bill the customer for the chemicals directly.

Baking soda (special machine)is how most car restorers remove paint prior to restoration. That attachment for a pw is a Wadoo( not sure of spelling) not sure it's viable for what you need.I use a Soy based stripper developed for removing paint off bridges . You would have to leave on for 24 hours then scrape. I use it to remove urethane off exterior wood. Called instrip by eaco chem. I was the very first person to use it on wood. Not a good position to be in when you call for tech support and find that out .

He is supposed to come out here sometime. When he does, he is going to provide some training. I am actually looking forward to it.

Vince, I talked to Adam a couple times last week and encouraged him to come on here and post in the Distributor Section about his products. I agree with Scott, there graffiti removal products are the best and easiest I have ever used.

Mostly on the floor. Years of residual paint, hardener, bondo, & primer. All auto grade.

I used to buy from Adam, before the city built the city graffiti removal trucks and did not want to sub out any cleaning.

Adam is a good guy, bought from him right after he got setup and first started selling. His products are the best in my opinion, way better than the bk stuff.

Before they sold the stuff here, I was calling Australia to see who close by could sell it, that call was very expensive, like $7.00 per minute. I had shock when I saw that phone bill. hahahahaha

The guy I knew did them on a 60 or 90 day repeat, probably a lot easier that way.

That would be great to get them on a schedule to clean them like every 90 days or so after the initial cleaning.

I've been cleaning paint booths for 23 yrs ...call me and i'll fill you in with some tricks ....

Yeah thats what im trying to do with every one i get. Makes it easier the next time around.@the tony, thanks bud. Im call you one day this week. Whats a good time to catch you not busy? And the test chems came in from KML. Ps-203 (striper) & CP400 (clear peel) the ps2038 is the supposed to eat away the excess build up & the cp400 is to set up, cure, and just peelaway the next time you clean the booth, taking the new overspray along with it.Sound great in theory....untill you get the sticker shock. The striper is $32.00 per gal, &the the peelis around $28.00 per gal. And they only come in 5 & 55 gallons. Not very cost effective. All of whichi woukd have to bill the customer for @the a by the gal rate. But theoretical coverage area is 100 - 120 sq. Ft. Per gal. And most paint booths i've seen arn't that big. Still adding 60.00 to the price....i dunno.
