Parking structure washing 02 cents possible in California

Just wondering if this is profitable in these harsh times?

There is a guy in Cal that has machines that are 2 gazillion BTU and has reclaim that filters to 1 Gazillionth of a micron. He charges WAYYYY more than that. So much so that he does the luxury yacht dinners AND gets autographs from steroid enhanced ball players.

This is all a hypothetical situation mind you.

Exactly what I thought when I was informed by client I just thanked them for calling us and giving us an opportunity to bid for his business. Oh yeah and one more it's 100 feet from ocean

Never done a job for less than $0.065 a square foot and never will. And that price is for a quarterly cleaning of a property 80,000 square foot +.

I wouldn't do a reclaim job for less than $0.14 a square foot. I'm in business to make money, and I only do quality work. And business is good.

Some guys "claim" to reclaim, only to get busters either doing nothing at all or using a Tennent or other vacuum system and get caught dumping the unprocessed waste water into a drain.

Might want to print out your local and the EPA / Clean Water Act for the potential client, and make him or her aware that the initial fine of up to $12,000 a day goes to the pressure washing contractor, the remaining costs, sometimes in the $100,000's, the property owner or manager is responsible for.

There is a company in California, and Arizona that cleans for that much. Sometimes they go as low as a penny a foot. I am still trying to figure out how they do it. Unfortunately, large corporations, and city governments often go by price alone, and then don't understand how come they don't have sand berms, or some other problems along the way.

For what it is worth, I have used a scrubber to prep a garage to be cleaned. Sometimes, a high volume garage, that has never been cleaned, just needs that before pressure washing.

Im with you Mr Grime Buster This is not a hobby for me either if I cant make money I would rather stay home and watch Jerry Springer and not lose any money !

We use the Tennent 7400D, looking at buying one here soon. Not for reclaim, but for our general maintenance accounts and great for pre cleaning and scrubbing the heavy traffic areas and the oil stains.

Just picked up my first big parking garage 350,000 sq.ft. Can't wait to get started It looks like pretty good money, but I wouldn't touch it at .02 a square.

Not sure my first cleaning job of this size, I told them 7 days and they were happy with that. I don't have a 50,000.00 rig so I work a little longer and a little harder, so I can get that set-up.

That should be about right. Are they closing the garage for you? Or are you going to have to do it at night?

No the garage is closed they are getting ready for a new tenant. Right now it's mostly used for parking during spring training for a major league baseball team.

Thanks guys. Yeah I'm having one machine rebuilt and going to buy a new surface cleaner next week, it's always slow for me between Christmas and New Years so I will get everything ready to roll.
