Anybody have script for prospecting people who call in for estimates?

Here are the questions I ask. Let me know what you would add to shake out the 'Tire Kickers'. Or better yet attach your 'script' to the thread.

1) What are you looking to have cleaned? House, deck, driveway, fence, sidewalk, skirt around pool,

2) is there an area that bothers you that I should pay close attention to? mildew around vent, cob webs by front door, streaks in gutters, etc.

3)I can look at the work ____. Would it be a problem if I looked at the property when you are not home.

4) all our estimates are in writting, what is the best way to get it to you - mail, fax, email?

5) When are you looking to have the work done? You would be surprised at the people who want it for a party on the weekend or the other end of the spectrum - "oh, in about six months when we put it on the market".

I'm going to have someone answering the phones so I would like them to be able to get as much info as possible, your input would help alot. Thanks, tim

PS I will post my 'scipt' that I write it with this feedback.

Tim, Tell them you have a minium charge (ours is $100.00) telling them what it is and that you need to come by to give detailed estimate. If they don't want to give you their name, address and phone number they are price checking for the cheapest price, aren't really that interested or they are wanting to compete against you and want you to tell them how to bid a job. If they don't want to give me the above information I DO NOT want to deal with them anyway. Trust me if they really want to have the work done they will welcome you to come by. Hey I even had one woman tell me she just moved and did not know the name of the street. I told her if she didn't know where she lived I could not help her.

Hey Ron, 4 days later is not that bad for the time of year. I'm going crazy keeping up with work - I called it a half day (4:00 PM, LOL) to get to my nieces graduation party.

I've got more tips to post about weeding out customers - I will post when I have time.

Peace, Tim
