Pigeon Poo Removal

Where is it at? In a barn, equipment shed or what? I have done this but we never did anything with it except washed it outside. Something to think about offering to them then is to spray some disinfect in the area after you are finished.

How much worse than this? I charged $350.00 just for the bird waste removal. Then I charged their regular cleaning prices for the concrete around the entire building and in this area. But I'm not an expert bird waste removal bidder. I just make what I can. If there is a standard pricing structure I would like to know. I always resort back to $100 an hr when I have a hard time bidding. But removing this much bird waste is the most disgusting job in the world!!!!:yikes:

Glove up,tyvek suit and a mask.Pigeon poo contains a variety of bacteria's and lices.
I got a nasty respitory infection several years ago on a pigeon poo cleaning job from not wearing a mask. The heat and humdiity were outrageous and the mask was smothering me....it took 6 months to get over the cough.Couple that with a couple of lung burns from SH and I have lost some lung function in the last 10yrs.

Charge a hauling fee if it has to leave the property.

I would also consider subbing it out - find a bird/bat or pest control company

There are over 60 diseases in pigeon poo so you need to have the proper ppe and be very careful.

Never take chances with your health so always charge accordingly.

Since you are dealing with a serious health hazard, charge more than normal washing.

I bid on an abandoned warehouse that had up to 1" mostly on the floor and in some places up to 4" of bird poo. I gave them the estimate and explained how hazardous the job was.

They got some day laborers from what I heard to clean up the mess, I feel sorry for those guys as I am sure that they did not know what they were getting into and probably did not have the proper ppe to stay safe.

I know this is a way to make good money, but honestly I think you may be getting in too deep for this type of work. I specialize in all things enviromental and this is near the top of the list for high risk work. I would really consider getting a highly qualified (check their references and licensing) enivormental contractor and letting them handle this one and try to work out a finders fee for passing the work their way. This is also puts the responsibility on them for proper handling and disposal. This is not work to be taken lightly. If you have any questions feel free to give me a call.
