Pool cleaning

I have a pool that is quite dirty and has a couple of layers of paint on it. Is there anything to strip the paint? Should I use a turbo nozzle on it? I also do not have a surface cleaner, this is my first flat work project.

'Ive been sandblasting and pressure washing swimming pools in dallas since 1974 .....contact russ Johnson for his sand blasting attachment for your pressure washer ......also he has a video showing it working.... amazing ....I've turbo nozzled paint on a pool many times ....no fun lol sandblasting more fun....

Unfortunately I have to get it done in a couple of days and I'll never get a sandblaster here in time. It's a 20x40, how long do you think that would take to do? And yes the sandblaster would be way more fun I'm sure!

No surface cleaner, paint stripping, pool deck, first job and they need it done right away?

This will be a very good learning experience for you!

I would start off a with a little easier (and more profitable) jobs if I were you. Paint stripping is MUCH more difficult than it looks, requires knowledge of paint strippers, how to use them, what to neutralize them with, what kind of masks to wear, clothing to protect yourself, water recovery and filtration systems to recover the paint chips, proper relocation areas, masking of sensitive areas and then the process you choose to remove the paint may need to be done 3x to get the color out of the pores in the concrete so it actually looks decent.

You might want to reconsider taking on a job like this. We have done enough to know that we don't want to do any more of them.

I would sub out the work to a company who uses dry methods like grinding or sandblasting.

call you customer let him know you would like to do a demo ...go clean for 1-2 hours on the pool see if its something you want to do ...

if so give him a price ......

if you have any questions post them here.or send me a pm

I have a little knowledge of your situation (almost 38 years of pressure washing/sandblasting ) swimming pools lol

Man that's a tuff one, Agree with Craig or David ?? Any way it does seem that you may be a little underequipped for this project.

Great advise, we try not to strip any paint as it causes a huge mess and most times all the paint does not come off
