Power washer question

Any recommendations for an Electric, deisel / oil fired machine? Must run on 115v. Portable, on wheels. 2.1 gpm, 1000 or more psi. I have seen quite a few. The pricing ranges from $1700.00 for a mini brute, which has no reviews to over $3000.00. We need it for one job and must bring it in the building so 700 lbs is not feasible.

Have you tried checking with any rental places. If you only need it for 1 job I think that would be the way to go. even if you by one I can't see getting alot of other use out of a 115 volt machine unless this is going to be an on going monthly service etc...

We use a 1500 psi 2.1 gpm electric from Northern Tool. It is a cold machine but we hook into the kitchens hot water. The Cat pump can handle the hot water. We paid $675 for the last one that we bought in 2007.

We have done this for over 15 years at a few of our accounts when we cannot get our trucks close to the kitchen. It works! We use Bonzi.

We use the cold water machines from Northern. Unfortunately the school shut the Hot water off so we are in a spot. We are currently borrowing a machine. A power America machine. Weighs about 250. Seems pretty good but wanted an opinion from you guys.

Just wondering, can you do the vent hood cleaning with only 2gpm? I was wondering if I could put a "T" on one of the hot water rigs and run 2 guns off it so maybe have one guy on the inside and one guy up on the roof?

What do you guys think?

Can't you just add a propane heater to your cold unit? Do you really feel the need to buy another unit?

Chris you sure can do KEC work with a 2GPM machine it is slow and if you have heat a good technique you can get it done, slower but you can do it. I prefer to use the little machines on maintinance accounts.

He is looking for a electric portable unit to take inside a restaurant.

Thanks Alexy.

No prob, also the one guy inside and one outside has a real draw back in that the inside guy will get the rain from the guy upstairs. The two gun set up in KEC work is usefull only on large systems or multiple systems in the same building. Also it can be used with one doing filters and one doing the hood.

Right, and he already said he is using an electric cold-water unit. Can't he just add a propane heater to have the availability of both, without buying another whole unit?

there is an almost new and newly repaird landa, sounds like what your looking for? for sale: charlotte nc. cleaning sysyems of the carolinas ask for jack

I guess he could but cost wise he can get the whole unit for less and I would think the self contained one piece unit is easier to move around/load/unload ect.
We have a Landa VHP propane unit that I bought from a company that was servicing a mall.
We had it serviced and returned 4 days later to clean restaurants in the food court of thier mall. Worked well for us but we realized that the unit could be smaller ( the northern unit on ebay) The landa weighs 500 lbs and the Northern unit is just under 200

Back on the 2 guns from 1 machine set up, one of our rigs is a 3000 psi 4 gpm unit that is supplied by a water hose (city water pressure). Can you install a T and run 2 guns off the machine with out any danger to the pump ?

Paul can tell you how to do that, I think that you need to use a special unloader and downstream injectors to control the flow so when someone lets go of a trigger, you don't get all the gpm's on your gun.
