Pressure gauge juice

I've got an almost new pressure gauge that lost it's love juice through the hole in the top.

First question: What is that juice? Is it some kind of oil?

Second question: If I fill it back up will it still work?

I know it's only a $6 part, but I hate to throw anything away if it can be fixed.

Probably glycerin. Buy a new one cuz by the time you buy it and spend the time messing with it you will be money ahead. Don't make me call Shelly.

It is glycerin. It acts as a damper to keep the needle from bouncing. Just get a new one.

Ok, it's in the garbage.

Just FYI, this is old technology now, but Chris used to pick up free big screen TV's off craigslist work on them about an hour and sell them.

It seems each of the three color tanks has ethylene glycol in them and they grow algae in them over time. All you have to do is clean them, put in about $10 worth of fluid and the TV works like new.

Any self respecting pressure washer would understand the concept of diminished returns. ;)

Tony throw some antifreeze in it and you'll have a cool colored gauge, put a single LED black light by it and pow fluorescen lighted pressure gauge! I'm going outside to drain mine and do it up right now
