I picked up a used hot water Epps unit with a General TS2021 recently to clean up and keep as a back-up unit or for an employee to run when things are really busy. I was thinking of laying everything out differently because due to the location of the fuel tanks, maintenance would be a hassle. As it sits, the engine is to the left, generator in the middle, and pump on the right.
Is there any advantage if the pump sits closer to the engine? The unit I currently run has the generator on the left, engine in middle, and pump on the right. The reason I ask is that I had heard that these Epps machines had a habit of going through belts quickly. I'm toying with the idea of relocating the tanks completely to make belt access, and maintenance easier.
