pwna, what will it take?

What will it take to start a local division and recruit member on the West Coast?

Chris and Doc or the president, whom ever or all that would like to respond. I also would still like to know if the meetings are open to all members. I would like to know when the next one is and where. I remember you said they are by conference calling.

Hey Ron,

Hold yer horses!!!
I'm still trying to gather info and respond to all the concerns that came from the other thread. Hopefully I can satisfy most with as much info as I know. Please be patient. The west coast thing does have value if there is enough interest. You know we did try it before, but it just didn't happen. As far as monthy board of directors conference calls being open to everyone. These meetings are not what most people would find interesting. We do have general sessions at both the conventions, where all the members and the board discuss any and everything, they nominate new guys or girls to the board, the membership votes on those issues and nominees etc. But I admit things take time. I am going to the rest of the board, this week with the thoughts that were expressed on the other thread, Hopefully this week.
Have a Sun Brite Day. Thanks Chris Detter/ Sun Brite/ PWNA :) :) :)

Yeppers - and he got pushy, loud mouth me on the Committee!

We also have Craig Harrison on the committee from California. There is a ton of opportunity on the West Coast and in each state for that matter. I personally feel that we should be an organization that is in each state. I feel that as an organization this should be more important than running a bulletin board service. I believe that if everyone just takes a wait and see attitude that they will be pleasantly surprised at what we accomplish. I also do not feel that decisions are always set in stone and as we run our own businesses we change with the times and circumstances. We still welcome members and non-members to be involved and to help or attend the meetings. Everyone is or was a non-member first, that focus has not gone away. I understand perception and we(PWNA) have put the accountability on ourselves to deliver. This is a good thing in my view as accountability can be a great motivator. If ANYONE is interested in knowing about or participating in Local Professional Chapters, I am all ears. I believe that this needs to be organized like the Pest Control industry where members and non-members can attend ALL meetings. This is how we touch the members and non-members. If we had 25 members in the 48 contiguous states that is 1200 members. Should this not be a goal of an organization that represents the industry. People ask "what will the PWNA do for me?" Bringing the organization to each state is a good step in answering that question.

Local chapters is an awesome idea. Local chapters is a great tool for recruitment and fostering commitment levels with members. One thing for sure, you committment can not be question. The PWNA is lucky to have a member like yourself. I wish you well and someday, I just may visit the local PWNA of Missouri - hopefully located in St. Louis. Reed ( I think he is a member) could be the local PWNA Chapter President. haha I'm sure he will be glad that I volunteered him. Actually, I'm serious, the several times that I have visited with Reed there in St. Louis - I was very impressed with his dedication to this industry. Sorry to ramble. Good luck.

Restaurant owners buy Coke and Pepsi cause they know their customers are going to ask for it and it would be stupid not to buy it. Maybe you guys should market to the end consumers, after a guy gets asked 5 or 6 times by a potential customer whether he is in the PWNA, he might start to want to join. This has probably been brought up a million times but I am a little slow on the draw:)
