Remote control

Have any of you brainiacs ever built a remote control to turn off the diesel engine, or do you know of any present manufacturer that might sell such an item? Thanks

P.S. Diesel over $5.00 here in CA.

Just thinking out loud here:
I wonder if a remote car starter could be modified to do what you want? There are several limitations that would have to be overcome, such as turning the ignition off after 10 minutes if the key is not in the ignition, no option to turn the engine off, maybe more issues. I wonder if a remote starter manufacturer could set you up with something? This could be a market they don't even know exists.
At $5+ per gallon, it wouldn't take long to recoup the cost of something like you are looking for. Let us know if you come up with something.

Who make the best one?

I have one on my unit that controls the chemicals 1 and 2 step and turns the engine on an off.Handy thing the remotes are. They are good to have in case a hose pops a push of the button and the washer is turned off good saftey feature.

what will they think of next

Look up US carburation.

Those are the ones we use. The range seems great, but we had some trouble with the install. I've been running them on two machines for about a year and a half.
They sell an add-on that turns your choke on and off, but we don't use it. We do use the heater on/off switch. Our heaters do not run off the generators. They run off an extension cord, so we need control over them. We did have some trouble with the wires not handling our 24hp honda. The box can't handle the juice needed for the on/off to the machine (or heater) so we had to get creative...

The one i uses draws very little i dont quite understand wont handle a 24 hp honda. Not sure what you mean on that one.Mine is a cheap one but it does what i want it to but Base manufacturing builds some of the best ones i have seen. They will custom built to what you needs are. They are a bit pricey but work very well.Around houses around trailers and trucks. The company is from canada i think.

We first wired ours to the ignition key for the On/Off to the machine (the key had to be "on" and the remote box did also). When you close the circuit, it can't seem to handle the charge that is sent. The box clicks and it works for a short period (3 sec.) then clicks off automatically. We now use the oil sensor to shut it down. We use a spare "button" that when pressed, sends a oil sensor problem to the machine, which shuts it down. You have to make a remote connection until the machine stops entirely. If you let go to soon, it fires back up. We did something similar with the heater.

I had mine wired to the fuel solonoid at first an when you it the button it would basically run the machine out of gas. That worked ok but it wouldnt ever start back lol.You need to jump the laching on that board you have that spare channel on momentary.Like the button you push to start its momentary like when you push it it activates for maybe 3 seconds if you switch the one on the brain of the board to latching you will be fine it works the opposite of momentary.

We use the oil sensor too now.
