Roof Cleaning Pump Survey !!!

I dont see why you would need anymore than a single delvan? There is so much waste with run off I dont see the need? Unless you were using 1 pump for roof cleaning and the other for something else.

1) One guy could clean the roof while the other cleans the house, using two pumps.
2) always have a bak up for when the first pump fails, and they always fail, takes about 5 seconds to switch pumps and your up and running again. Then you call Paul and say send me another pump and for about $125.00 another pump is on the way.
3) Let' say you have a job and you need to use a totaaly safe cleaning product like I am using for a certain client. I cant let my cleaning product mix w bleach or any other type of cleaning product. I just use the other pump. I have a total separate tank, hoses, gun for it. It works out great for me. One pump that I use that has chemicals run through it, the other is my safe pump, that has no chemicals that runs through it.

Many many different things you can do and adapt with the two pump system.

Here is the video I shot today using my camera. I had intended on shooting a better video and a litttle bit longer but my videographer friend could not make it at last minute. I But hopefully it will show you a litttle how far it shoots. I'll keep trying to get a better one.

I have a tee inline and I can switch from one tank to another same thing plus I have a flush hose that can be put directly into any bucket for applying. I have an extra pump anyway but I have been pulling chlorine thru this delvan for years without a hiccup? The key is to flush with 5gal of fresh water when done.

I got to see the pump in action at the Tampa event and it looked like a good pump.

I am sure that Paul got a great pump for roof cleaning that should last a long time.

I have always got good results from my roof cleaning pumps by rinsing them out with water when done for the day or at the end of the roof cleaning job.

That is a good video of roof cleaning Doug, I am guessing that was just one pump running?

Doug nice looking set-up!! Put all that on a plastic pallet so you can side it in and out of your truck. Is that a 65 gallon tank? Are you still using AC's stuff or did you go back to your original mix?

The green additive in the gallon jug is green wash. It's what I add to my mix.

Doug, How far is it shooting? I thought somewhere that it would be 40 ft? In the video it doesn't look like it is having a hard time getting 20 ft.

I think what you saw was Paul's comment when he first tested the pump shooting it straight out w 300 ft of house he was getting between 40 and 45 feet. With 185 foot of hose shooting up I am able to get between 30-35 feet. I would have to say that in the video I am getting at least 30 feet when you take in the height and angle I am shooting at. Could be wrong. Next video I shooit I will do some measuring for sure.

Doug, I'm by no means knocking it so don't take it the wrong way. I was just trying to compare between my airflo and this pump. We shoot most all of our stuff on hip roofs. I will have to say that by the looks of your video and me watching our guys shoot, I probably get 10 or so more feet out of my air diaphragm setup than that 12v. Again, not knocking 12v, just comparing....and I have a regular delevan and a fatboy that still work (use them for transfer pumps, etc)

Not taking it as a knock at all. I am sure an air diaphragm pump will get more distance. I think what we need to understand is that this pump was designed really for the new roof cleaning contractor just getting into the business or someone that does maybe 1 roof a day. I am sure for the guys doing 2-3 roofs in a day this may not be the option for them, but again for the cost to replace a pump when it goes down at $125.00 it may be. But for $700.00, then add the battery and tank you've got a great roof cleaning system for under a thousand dollars. Compare that to the others that are out there that start at $1600.00 to $3000.00 and up and you can see this is a great value for the money. There hasnt been a roof I havent been able to shoot with it and the majority of the ones here are steep hip roofs as well. Most of those I shoot from the gutter line. A few I have been able to get on the top ridge and shoot down.

I clean at best 10-15 roofs a month so it's perfect for me.

Here are a couple pic's of it in use when I was training Roger and Nate that were here for my school. The second pic is of Nate hitting the top of the second story roof from the ground.

Ball Valve is still the best way to rinse and apply water, especially if it's 8/10 gpm.
