Roof Cleaning W/Articulating Boom Lifts

Chris, while using an articulating lift bucket can be great on some applications such as roofs I still prefere to use a straight boom whenever possible. Also the spider leg type are a pita to use and very slow. You have to get each leg balanced before the bucket will go up. Much easier using the standard drive and go units. They are all fun to play with though!

Chris I believe it is the same as the one I rented. It's a JLG. Only difference is you got the 2007 model and I got the 1928 model. LMAO. No complaints though. It did run good. Well,,,, until the starter went out and they had to bring me a new one which set me back a few hrs and made me have to work on Fathers day!
Here is the newer one they brought me! A 1929 model... LOL

I used a straight boom lift on a house recently... needed it for the tile roof. My first time using a lift and first time doing a roof - great fun!!! The home owner provided the lift, he owns a concrete company.

Haven't got the roof cleaning bug yet though... it was a good experience with the lift and roof, and it cleaned up real nice. Unfortunately no photos - I was subbed this job at the last minute and was too busy making sure I was doing the job right!! :(

are the articulating lifts difficult to use, or similar to straight boom lift?

More levers and buttons and swithes and..... lol They are really not that bad once you get used to them.

They are a bit more complicated Steven, but once ya get the hang of them, it soons becomes second nature, like Larry said.

We used one of the articulating arm booms before. The one on our home page was a big one. It was fun.
Wow, I always look at the Isuzu, must have missed that.
What did that puppy run you ?

WOW! The lift I rented last week from Florida forklift was $530.00 plus tax. That price included delivery. Because of the break down we had they only charged me. $335.00 with tax. and that was for the whole weekend. They dropped it Friday and picked it up Monday morning...

Chris, What would their weekend rate have been? Some of these places charge you for another day if you go even a few minutes over on the hr meter. In addition they want you to fill out tons of info that they fax to their main office where they do a check on you. background and credit. Then you have to give them a deposit, dna, first born, and a huge deposit...Just kidding about 2 of those. LOL. The first 2 places I went to: United Rental and Rcs wanted all that and they were in the $700.00"s for 1 day....I said nooooo thank you! Did sunbelt make you jump through hoops of fire or were they easy to deal with? :)

No Larry, no hassle at all EXCEPT there needed to be someone up in Ocala to sign for it.
So, when on the way, we called ahead, and they met us at the job site.
They WERE an hour late.
No big deal, we shot what we could from the ground while waiting :)
Called and told em we were done, come get it.
They said it would not be until Monday, but our deal was for one day,. and have receipt to that effect.
They are very much "Good Ol' Boyz" up in Ocala ;)

Cool beans. I just hate when they go all corp, america on you! Seems like a good place to rent from. :)
