Roof help W/pics

This is a roof I have a bid on and I could use some help. The roof I am about 99% sure is flat clay interlocking tile. the building is close to 14000 sqft. the pitch is i'm guessing around 30-35 and would put the sq ft somewhere close to 19,000 sq ft. I am planning on using envirospec Emulsifier Plus to clean it by down streaming the chemical with my rig. They removed the roof and replaced tiles, when they put the new roof on they reused the good tiles that had algae that were on the north side. They just placed them all around the roof and didnt clean them before they put them back on. So the whole roof now needs to be cleaned. I need to get a lift as well I was wondering if you guys would have any opinions on how to price this and on application.

They sure look like slate to me too. to thin for clay tiles. shoot with your favorite love cocktail. If it is slate be careful very slippy surface

It very well may be slate I am dumb when it comes to roofs. It really shouldn't be that difficult of a job. They did tell me they pressure washed a few tiles before they put it back on and they said it came right off. What do you guys think about on price?

At that square footage, I would charge around $4k, plus lift expenses. Is the building 14k total square feet or is that the footprint?

It looks like slate to me as well, so definately dont try and walk it. You will need a dedicated pump, downstreaming will not work, it will dilute the mix too much.

I have done some slate roofs and used more mix than on a tile roof.

I would not walk on the slate if it is possible to use a lift, slate is expensive to replace.

I would not downstream anything, you need a stronger mix and a dedicated roof mix pump.

There are a lot of great threads here about doing this, feel free to search them and read all about it, it will help you out a lot.

I would charge at least .20 per sq. ft. for 19,000 sq. ft. + lift.

Scott and Chris are absolutely right. You need a dedicated Roof Cleaning Pump to Clean Roofs. Roofs cannot be Cleaned by DS"ing. You will be wasting your time and beating your head against that tan brick wall... Like This--- :banghead:

FYI, if they are willing to pay, and this isnt something you are comfortable doing, we do travel...

I had an old friend who used to clean roofs in Oklahoma.
You guys have a lot of dust, and wind to blow the dust right into the roof surfaces.
SHC will not remove dirt.
Here is how we would clean that roof. A dedicated roof cleaning pump, number one, and an "excess" of a chlorine Stable Surfactant like Ammonyx LO from Lori. Use 1 gallon per 100 gallons of mix on that roof, you need the cling, and the cleaning power of an industrial surfactant. Be aware it will dry to a film at that concentration, so the roof will need a good rain to look it's very best. When it does rain, you will have an absolutely showcase roof.
I thought that place was an overgrown Donut Shop, because of the 2 Cop Cars sitting outside :rotflmao1:
I accidentally sprayed a Cop once, he didn't think it was funny.
I laughed my azz off, now he answers to the name "Sergeant Spot"
