Roofer interested in roof cleaning

Hey guys, great informative board you have here. I have a roofing biz here in Iowa and am interested in adding roof cleaning to my services. Have been reading the info available here and at PT State and guess I got a bunch of questions I hope you can help me with. I won't post them all in one message but will get started . First off I've been in the residential roofing biz for 13 years and never really heard of roof cleaning. Cant find anyone in the whole state offering roof cleaning in the yellow pages or online, but there are plenty of dirty roofs. Dont know if thats good or bad . So I guess the main question I have is will I be able to sell roof cleanings here if nobody else is doing it? Who is your average customer? Will middle class homeowners be interested or just upper class? Are they buying simply for curb appeal or for roof longevity, and will a cleaning definately add life?

Right now I'm thinking of hanging door hangers on easy ranch homes in need of a roof wash and seeing what type of response I get and possibly set up some jobs before investing in the equipment. Any other good ideas for testing my market?

Thanks for your help.

Hi John
Your in an great position. With the right marketing plan you will do great. Any home upper, lower and middle class all need roof cleaning. Make your mark tell people why they need it and advertise. I also live in a state that had no clue that roofs can be cleaned now we get 3-5 calls a day just for roofs. The ads we run advertise low pressure or safe roof cleaning, huge response
good luck
