shot gun fungus

I have been power washing houses for over 30 years. Full time in the summer .This is my 25th year in business and every year I receive more and more calls to remove artillery fungus (shotgun mold). I have tried steam (bad deal) soaps that have turned siding different colors, which I had to fix (which I did). I had tried bleach, soaps, acids, hand cleaners, paint thinner, nothing seams to take the black little dots off of houses. We know what it is. why can't we find something to take it off without doing some kind of damage. DOES ANYONE KNOW?

Eacochem makes something for shotgun/artillery fungus called safe restore i have never tried but on there site eacochem.com just look up artillery fungus and it takes you to safe restore

Mr Clean Magic Eraser Pad and elbow grease.

I have only ran into that a couple times here, thank god.

That stuff is a major pita to remove!

There is no easy way that I found and from guys all over the country, they have not found a good solution either.

I suse Safe Restore on glass very often to remove hard water and while you're at it, you'll see the fungus just breaking loose and that's it.

We remove it from glass using a scraper, but is an everyday tool for window cleaners, I don't see somebody washing a house with a scraper removing fungus.

I have only ran into that fungus a couple times, I do keep some SafeRestore in the storage building, I will give that a try next time I run into that stuff.

My friend tells me that he also uses SafeRestore on glass to get rid of minerals and stains too. He loves that stuff too.

whatever you do it is going to take a while. hot water at 210 works for me. maker sure the siding isnt oxidized cuz that is the only reason I know of that would make it change colors.

Just remember guys, Safe Restore is an acid, so watch it around sodium hypo.

From what I understand it is present in bark dust. Tell HO's to keep bark dust away from there house to keep it off.

It is on the bark in the mulch but I do not remember from what kind of tree or what part of the country.

I have not seen the bark dust but the mulch, you can see the stuff all over the bark and shredded wood.

No chems in Magic Eraser,.. it is elbow grease and the very fine abrasive that the Magic Eraser uses for it's cleaning effectiveness.
