Hello everyone,
I am new to this site, and to this line of work. I am currently looking into starting a pressure washing buisness of my own. I believe in starting small and in doing all I can by myself to keep any overhead down to a minimum.
A friend of mine owns a siding business and I have worked with him in the past, after every job we would complete everything would be a dirty dusty mess. I could not believe no one would clean off the siding when we were finished. No one besides me seemed to be bothered by this.
I know there are at least 50 new residential subdivisions in developement right now within a 50 mile radius of my home, so there should be the potential for pleanty of work. I can't say there is any more than one or two siding and deck cleaning contractors in my immediate area, so I am left to believe this is a needed line of service in this area.
I guess I'm asking for product and service help more than anything, as of now I do own a 3500 PSI Honda cold water unit in the bed of a truck and a 250 gal. water tank(and water dionizing tanks for spot free rinse... detail shop) with 250 ft. of hose and multiple wands and fittings. Is any of this good enough to get a start in this business or should I go to the SBA and ask for a loan to get started? If so what unit, company and produtcs do I use?
Where do I start with pricing? I've talked with a few contractors including my friend with the siding business, they all want pricing... I just want to be competitive without digging to far into debt if I do not have to right off the bat.
I was the former owner of White Glove Automotive Detailing from 1996 to 2001(I was 19yrs old when I started), so I have a basic understanding on making a small business work. I am really looking for any help with products, pressure washing systems, tools, and ANY ADVICE AND GUIDEANCE you good folks may have on this subject. Thanks so much!!!
