Starting business....need advice

Hello everyone,

After several yrs in the capet cleaning business I've decided it's time for me to venture out on my own. Here is a little bit of info on how I decided this.

I was working for one of our better customers and decided to ask what line of work he was in. He said he was in the pressure washing business. This person insistd I would do very well in this area... my customer service is exceptional. He told me "People are always looking for service.. if you provide what they need it doesnt matter how much it will cost." So I decided to do some research.

I've written a few people but never recieved a reply. I'm looking for a mentor of sorts.. someone that can give me info on my basic questions. Again I'm really very interested in this field

Ive already done some research on my market and I think things look good.

What is the average start up cost for a business like this?

What determinds the system used ( hot or cold pressure washers)? As I said before I want to start in Ohio... so is climate an issue?

Are there loans out there that are better than another?

I'm just looking at the asics right now. I chose this site because it seems very open and friendly.

Thank you for your time

Bill

Bill,

Wait a couple of days. Nothing but good folks on this board. Someone else already established in Wisconsin will probably offer you to ride with them for a couple days or weeks. They will be able to show you the ropes vs. just talking about it. Herny knows what he talking about so give him a call. But if someone in your area offers free ride along training, (TAKE IT) it will be invaluble.

Hope this helps.

P.S. You can also give me a call anytime 410-326-1980.

need help with starting own company

Hi Bill,

Just wanted to give you a little more support and help if you need it. My husband has been in buisness for 18 years and is a wealth of knowledge. I have been working with him for the last 10 years so I am pretty knowledgeable myself. Both Michael and I would be more than willing to give you tips on marketing, sales, advertising, equipment, cleaners, etc. We know what it is like to feel as if you are out there alone. Luckily there is wealth of info online and within these sites. There are plenty of nice guys out there willing to help. That's right I read all of your replys. Our website www.powerwashnow.com is full of info and may be helpful to you. If you have any questions you can email me at nancy@powerwashnow.com Good luck to you Nancy J Cassidy
