same thing happened to me a few weeks ago.
luckily only 15 or so feet was hanging out rather than the full 250, but it was enough to ruin my ball valve and make me angry at the rudeness associated with this city since nobody had the decency to let me know.
I mean seriously, if I see someone with even their gas flap thing open, I let em know.
I guess its cuz I'm not from here.
Anyways, I started tucking it back like the others suggested
