Store Bleach

Looking for a good recipe to clean vinyl siding, somehting that will be safe on it. I would like to use store bought bleach to kill mildew, still trying to find 12.5 in my area. I need something safe on plants and grass. I am using a Xjet straight open. I have been looking around and seeing all the different things everyone is using, but havent found much for cleaning vinyl with store bought bleach. Ive been looking at simple cherry as a product to mix. I been using monster house wash and it works good but cost $70 for 5 gal w/shipping and only does about 3 houses. Thanks for your help guys.

I've used household bleach 4 gallon, water one gal, & large apple blossom dawn ds'd with a ball balve from a 5r also add about 6-8 ounces zip carwash/wax for sheening.

Does that keep the bleach strong enough to do the job?

I have seen a house wash combination of Envirospec's Emulsifier Plus and bleach, Sunbrites Power House & Bleach.

Bleach kills the detergency of most soaps, so they must be compatible or mixed in certain concentrations or only for a certain duration.

This begs the question:

Is there an alternative to bleach, that will not have you scrubbing or turning up the pressure to get at/kill mildew?

Does any of the heavy duty citrus cleaners really work?

Here is something that I use and have had great results with downstreaming.

5 gallons of the 10% or 12.5% then add 1.5 cups (scoops) of PressureTek's Simple Cherry and mix then drop the downstream injector hose into bucket and start downstreaming.

This soap has a lot of stuff in it so on the Hot Texas Days, the stuff will dry on the windows, even very expensive windows and I just rinse off. I had 2 instances where it dried real good so I just sprayed it with more housewash mix and then rinsed the windows and they are sparkling clean!

This is the only soap that I can let dry on the windows and had good results with just rinsing with low pressure, I would not try this with other brands of soaps because I learned about this the hard way. Nothing against other brands of soaps, I just know this works great for me.

For housewashing, this is the only thing I will use because down here, everything dries very fast so you need something that will come off easily if it dries and this product is great for that.

Only mix what you need for the job as this will not be strong for house washing a week later, just the climate here.

If you X-jet then you could dilute the bleach a little bit so it will go further, I am not sure about how much soap to use as I downstream like 99% of the time but on some occasions, I will dust off the X-Jet and use it so you will have to experiment with the amounts of soap.

You will probably be ok with 1.5 scoops into a 5 gallon bucket, might just have a little more soap on the surface but it rinses off nicely.

Hope this helps.

I hear so much about the Cherry soap, never tried it.
Good point about drying Chris, dont let Emulsifier Plus from Espec dry on anything. Headache big time, be prepared to "buff" the windows.

How does the carwash work if your rinsing everything off?

Hey Mike,

If your in Georgia go to Sun Brite Supply in Lawrenceville, why spend money on shipping fees? They carry 12% bleach and house washing chemicals too.

www.sunbritesupply.com

If you have a pressure washing supply store so close I'd suggest going there, it will save you a lot of money in shipping costs. With today's economy, why pay for shipping? I see guys spend prescious time online trying to save 5 bucks only to spend 15 on shipping and handling fees!

Thanks guys for all your help.
