Straight Talk Phones

I spoke with a guy in the industry today who told me his cell phone bill was $600 last month. He was on a limited plan and went waaaaay over with texts/photos coming in.

I personally cannot afford a fancy droid or iphone, although I do have a low-buck smart phone. I am on Wal-Mart's Straight Talk pay-as-you-go plan, $50 a month for unlimited everything (texts, internet, photos, etc.) My web capabilities are limited in what the phone can do, but I can keep up with my email, Facebook, etc. My husband doesn't use his much so he's on the $30 limited plan, which still offers more minutes/texts, etc., than most limted programs.

The customer service stinks -- although it's better than it used to be, but the connection is good. In fact, it's better at my house than when I had Verizon. (I see that Verizon has a similar program now as well.)

So if you're on a limited budget, I would recommend Straight Talk.

After my iPhone went belly up i switched to straight talk $30 a month. I can't see ever paying $130 again.

My wife and I just left S.T. For Verizon and bought Droid phones. Your right they do have a really good service range on gsm phones. Basic phones have better service then smart phones anyway.
Your right customer service is terrible. I discovered calling the manager line direct will get you far better results every time. They actually know what their doing.
I needed a real smart phone for business purposes, my wife.....just wanted a smart phone after using mine a couple of times. Now I have an iPad Im trying to figure out what else to do with.
Agreed, if you want unlimited min. and web on a phone without all the bells and whistles S.T. Is the way to go.

Well you are not totally getting away from verizon. Straight talk rides the verizon network just like cricket uses at&t. Ihave had one for over a year and it works great.

You can shut off photo and text messaging, thats crazy I dont even pay 600 a year for my Blackberry. Always good to monitor your use and keep those costs down

I'm carrying 5 phones, 2 being smart, on att. Our bill is $200/mo which isn't bad. I think we split 1400 minutes and unlimited txt. But, with unlimited mobile to mobile, nights and weekends, and 10favorites list, we have some 10k rollover minutes.
Talk while on the web still has me sold on the att iphones!

We have 5 smart phones and pay under $300.00 a month?

Wow. You guys are killing me. Five smartphones unlimited everything on verizon runs us around $400.

I had two "carphones" in the 80s that was usually over $1500/Mo. Eighty cents per minute. My boss paid for it.

I've been with Boost Mobile (iden) on the Sprint Network for almost 2yrs. now. Coverage is Awesome, and i don't think i've ever had a dropped call.

The Androids are $55/mo., and after 18 on time payments, they "shrink" the bill to $40...
