My focus for 2009 is to get more contract night work.

I enjoy the work more when my son goes along. The center I did last night was only a little over 6,000 s.f. so I did it alone.

Russ, how do you make money going out of town? How do these p.m.'s find you, and pay you to travel to their location, with all the locals around that could/would do the same work for a cheaper rate. It might not be good work, but it would be cheaper which is what alot of them look for.

I think its great what you do, just want to know about whats involved

I am unsure if this question will be answered however im all ears as well. It has alot to do with quality of work and sales for one

First of all They dont find me I find them.

Second I dont travel to do a location, we schedule a route and do 20 or more large jobs and mix in a few small ones for multiple companies at the same time.

Third I doubt a local company could do the job any cheaper, number one reason is they would have to bump their insurance requirements so high that it would not benifit them to even do the job. Remember, this is what we do, we are set up to do it and we dont do or target anything else.

Well someones gotta doit!

Looks good, nice thing about night work is there isn't all the people around.
Curious do you need to filter or divert wash water on strip centers?

Sorry, didn't mean to be a loaded question. I read a bunch of posts hear about the EPA challenges in some states. I haven't done any commercial, knowing you travel I should have a better question. Sticking with Residential for a while, nice set up you have.

That one looks a bit different than it used to now!

Loaded question buddy!

Its all up to the property your cleaning, most new properties are set up correctly and there is no danger in off site run off.

We cleaned hundreds of properties all over Birmingham thru the years with no issues. Good luck!

Hello Russ,

This might be a good time to interject with the fact that these types of properties have sweeper trucks that come in as much as 7 nights a week to deal with anything that is left on the parking lot. Most local accounts can easily be scheduled so that the sweeper can compliment our service and even though nothing is going off property, the property itself remains squeaky clean.

This is what happens when businesses are left alone to do their work and are only bothered when they are really doing something harmful to the environment.

Russ, how many minutes would it take you to decide to retire if Jim Gamble and Robert get their way and you have to vacuum all this up, filter it and find a sewer cleanout to put it in, for no reason whatsoever except to sell vacuum and filter equipment?
