Surface Cleaner Striping

Hey, I have a Whisper Wash surface cleaner and the other day one of the nozzles stopped up so I took it off and cleaned it, it was a piece of rubber in it. Well after that it kept stopping up, so I eventually cleaned my tank, although I do have an inline filter and it had never stopped up before. Well I had it working and not stopping up, but it was striping the concrete, like one nozzle was putting out more pressure than the other one. I checked the nozzles again and they weren't clogged. So I went to the place where I purchased my equipment and they checked the surface cleaner and everything looked fine, but I did replace the nozzles cause I did see were they had scraped across concrete several times and had worn. Well I did a job this week and it striped again. I was wondering what the problem is, any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

The rubber is probably from an O ring or seal in your machine and enters the system after your tank and screen filter. Check all your rings and seals for wear and let the machine run for a few minutes without any nozzles or guns (just hose) to flush the debris out. while it is running clean out your surface cleaner and the nozzles and your done.

I did those things after the first time it stopped up and it still stopped up again after that with some other stuff. But I've got that problem solved, the nozzles are new and not clogged now and yet it's striping.

Striping

We've had some SW & DW's that will stripe no matter what. Some of the concrete work is better than others.

Just last week we did a DW and my machine was doing perfect then I switched to the "new" part of the DW and it took off the first layer of the DW.

We are in Florida and the quality of concrete work is inconsistant.
Sometimes I have to lower the pressure on my machine way down as well to have it not stripe. Which of course slows down the job and irrates me to no end. But, this is our business.

I'll check those things, thanks for all your replys. I talked to the place that I bought it from and they told me to bring it down there tomorrow. Maybe they can find out what the problem is.

walk slower. Sounds like the Swivel has a slight leak on the Primary nozzle or the bearings are sticking. This slows down the spinning action. Get the spinner swivel rebuilt or try to grease the bearings with waterproof grease.

I'm back!

Wisper Wash has set nozzles they can not get out of alignment. The spraybar is Aluminum however and they have a tendancy to wear a hole in the midle of the spraybar. A tiny pinhole is enough to make this happen. Check it with water running thru it and see if it is squirting water where it should not. And see if it is spinning properly. You may need to replace the spraybar and spinner.
