Does anybody thread there own wands?

I think it takes a 1/2" by 18 thread, but not sure?

Where could I find this die?

Thanks for any suggestions?

Wands are 1/4 or 3/8 pipe thread. If you want to thread your own, you will need a set of dies, a wrench to hold the die while you thread, a vise to hold the pipe, and cutting oil. I use only Ridgid brand pipe wrenches, cutters, handles, heads and dies. I estimate you will have $150.00 to cut 1/4 and 3/8 threads. Or you can go to the hardware store, and buy just the dies and use an adjustable wrench to cut your threads. Why not buy the wands ready made, and insulated?

douglas, i like to make custom langths.
Go to pep boys or www.northerntool.com to get the dies. Aluminum is real easy to do. Stainless is harder. Make sure its for PIPE THREAD.
Also you can pack the alum. tube with sand then bend it. It will keep it from crimping. A spring will also work. Nothing needed for small bends.
