Subject: Your Company Profile

I read your comment on an Internet BBS:
http://www.ptstate.com/index.php/topic,3436.msg42399.html#msg42399

Our products have been used on well over 100,000 roofs in 15 states. They are approved by the largest Roof Materials Manufacturers in the US and companies with a hell of a lot more experience with Roof Cleaning than you do use these products every day. It constantly amazes me how people with relatively no experience in the field of Roof Cleaning suddenly think they're an expert because they have read a bleach recipe on the Internet and got a couple of roofs clean. We do take comfort in the fact that most of you idiots will be out of business in 3 years or less.

And we'll do what we can to speed up that process. We have a database of over 500 Property Managers and businesses throughout Pinellas and Hillsborough Counties. We will be e-mailing our thoughts on your company to these contacts. Even though we have no practical experience with your company, we will pass on our best guess as to whether or not you are using dangerous chemicals, unnecessary and damaging pressures, whether or not you are licensed or insured, your company's lack of experience, the damage we have seen caused by inexperienced contractors, and that they should proceed with extreme caution when thinking about the possibility of working with your "company".

Wow, John.

I did not mean to say your product was ****. It may not be what I use but I have never said anything bad about your product. My comment was meant to convey that marketing could make anything look good, regardless of the product. My appologies that it sounded that way. I do believe that Thompsons water seal is ****. but it sells like hotcakes due to very good marketing.

However, since you wanted to take me to task on this with only this one comment to make your case on, so be it. And since your diatribe was quite nasty, I feel the need to comment.

Lets look at your web site.
1.) We have the ONLY EPA Approved Algaecide-the EPA never has approved a product and you should know that they only register products.
2.) Find And Applicator (link button) You do know how to check spelling dont you?
There is not one applicator in the 3 county area I service. Must not be that many customers demanding your service.
3.) Traditional cleaning typically involves chlorine bleach or pressure cleaning – both of which have been known to cause unnecessary and sometimes extensive damage to the roof and surrounding property. In addition, these methods yield results that typically last only 6-12 months.
True but. Uneducated contractors may cause damage. yes, but lets be honest, you would have to be pretty stupid to cause damge to tile with bleach and shingles just take a little more care. Glad your so good at scaring the consumer though. Plus. I have done tile roofs more than 2 years ago that still show no signs of mildew re-growth and shingle roofs last even longer. Granted conditions both related to environment can change that fact.

Now. You may have a lot of experience. The contractors that buy into your franchise may have a lot of experience. But I am constantly amazed at how people with relatively no experience in roof cleaning buy into your propoganda. Unless I'm mistaken, you are a manufacturer and don;t actually do roof cleaning. You may have once but obviously dont do it anymore, so your living is based on manufacturing and selling this product. I, and my friends that frequent the bulletin boards, clean everyday. Many of us have hundreds if not thousands of roofs under our belt. Maybe not the 100000 you claim your product has been applied to, but still, plenty to be confident that we just didnt take a bleach recipe from the internet and call ourselves experts.

Lastly, Feel free to contact your database of 500 property managers and businesses in Pinellas and Hillsborough counties. Those contacts seem to have not used you or your product for roof cleaning in the past. In fact your only franchise in this area (I wont bring his name into this,) didn't even use your product for cleaning roofs, only as an add on for prevention against further growth. He is no longer in business by the way. Im not the kind of guy to cry libel or slander, (never can remember which one is which,) or run to a lawyer and I'm fairly sure I can defend my experience and use of my chemical mixture to anyone that you might contact.

Oh, by the way, you dont mind if I post your angry diatribe for all the world to see, do you. I thought not.
Have a nice day.

Jon Chapman

P.S. Do you really have that much gall to take my words from a public forum where we pride ourselves on our ability to speak out without fear of recrimination, e-mail a threating letter, and just get away with it? Seriously.

Have your attorney send a response to their email...they need to understand what defamation, libel, and interference with contractual agreements can cost them.

Ditto that. That is totally inappropriate, and would love to know his response.

Oh, he has made a few responses on PT State.
Now he's poking Doolittle.

Which is not unlike pi--ing on a pit bull.
:)

Hey John, this guy sounds like a real ass, good for you standing up to his little tyrant. I would'nt worry about him trying to deface your companies name, he sounds like a blowhard!!
