Guess what I'll be doing in the morning...
Thanks Bill at Powerwashstore.com for the help.

You are going to love that pump. I usually have a couple at my shop, plus rebuild kits. I'm not a distributor, but I do what I can to help people out.

Bill mentioned to me that you had been replacing ts2021 with the Legacy so i figured I would give it a shot. It says to use Legacy oil, what oil do you use?

Also, once I get it everything installed is there anything I need to do before I fire it up?

It probably has oil in it. We service our pumps with non-detergent 30wt. My machines have a bit rougher life than most. Lots of starts and stop every single day. I think in the past couple of years, since we started swapping out the pumps, we have repacked two of our 24 active machines. Some of them have close to 1000 hours on them with out ever having been opened up.

Thanks, good to know.

Do I need a special tool to get the pulley off the old pump???

You shouldn't need a special tool. You will see 4 holes on the pulley. Take the 2 bolts out and put them in the other 2 that aren't being used and it should slide right off.

I tried this but I didn't want to brake the bolts that were in there so I used some extras that I had laying around in the garage and one of them snapped off, so I ended up getting a loaner puller from Auto Zone. That thing was really on there tight. I got it all back together now but I don't think I got the pulley far enough on (maybe an 1/8" shy of where its supposed to be) I don't think its enough to hurt anything. When I was tightening the pulley on to the new pump one of the bolts broke so I only have one bolt holding the pulley on. That pulley is pressed on there so tight I think it should be alright. I say that now, but I'll probably pull it all apart and replace it. It was one of those mornings where it seemed like everything I touched turned to poo.

At 3600 rpm, couple pounds of pulley, belts flying, 18 hp - I would put it back right just for piece of mind. Sounds like it was over-torqued before so it might not need to go back on as far. Just tighten it to right before the bolt snaps - lol
