Using a scrubber on asphalt driveway

I have a 3500 psi 4gpm cold water pressure washer with a 16" Whirl Machine with two nozzles on the spinning bar. Is it safe to use this equipment on asphalt? I want to clean the surface so that it can be sealed. Any suggestions on chemicals to use, etc. Thanks!

I think it would be better to use a wand, because too much pressure on asphalt can chew it up. I'm not really sure, because I've not had an occasion to do a job like that.

I did a job a year ago, 26,000 plus feet of new asphalt, first day I wanding and felt like it would take forever, next day used the the surface cleaner and cold water with no problem.

A fire hose would work faster and better if there is a hydrant and you have a permit. The meter was there but I did not have any fire hose and that low pressure nozzle they use on it.
