Weird bid but future work

This thing is driving me crazy. They want me to clean the rock columns on this building. They are 30' tall and range from 6- 10 feet wide. I figured the square footage on all of the to be 10,718. What do you guys think. It would probably take me 4hrs to do since I am on my own. Bidding in my area is driving me crazy. I'm getting lots of chances but my quotes are off. Could use your help guys. Call or just PM me.

Good luck on 4 hrs.... I would estimate every bit of a 1.5-2 days with one guy!!! Especially depending on which columns - concrete or white columns? Using a ladder or a lift or neither? Are you downstreaming? With what?

10,718 would take me 4-5 hours to clean and rinse on flatwork... Much less 30ft... I must be slow...

Definitely don't think you need a lift; but 30ft is going to be annoying to get it as clean as you want it without getting somewhat close... think about that, how many hours it will take you, chems... then you should have a better idea....

Yeah i dont think I need a lift either. They are rock columns what they are interested most in is getting the grout clean from mold. Most of them are close enough to spray and clean two at a time. So yeah I underestimated the time. It would take a day and a couple hours. I am having a problem on how to price this by sq. ft.???? Downstreaming with limonene from evirospec.

Personally, I wouldn't get caught up in sq.ft. Sometimes sq. ft. pricing makes sense and sometimes it doesn't. Estimate how many chems you are going to use for the sq. ft. You have your chem cost. Anything else (gas, material, etc.) Add both up and you have your total material cost. Say it takes you 12 hrs. How much are you going to charge per hour? Add it up = your price. Are others bidding? What kind of feel do you have that you will get awarded this contract? This will impact your price.

One more thing, now you may have a couple more bidders from around OK with these pics up.... Weigh what you want to make and how much you think the market will bear. Good luck!

Joshua,

I am trying envirospec chems also and would like to hear about your experience and mix ratios. Call me or write. I'm loving what the powerstroke did for a car wash's flatwork this past weekend.

Thanks

I estimate 28 columns? If this is correct at 45 minutes on each column it would be 21 hrs. @ 30 minutes on each column it would be 14 hrs. + chemicals +recovery if needed.
Add these together and come up with your daily rate that you want to make.

Don't cut yourself short on how long it will take you.

It looks to me like one of those jobs where it will just take awhile to get done. Time you pull your hose to each one of those and making sure to be careful with the flowerbeds, moving your truck from time to time.

Just looks like it could turn into a 2 day project with one man.

Hope it goes good for you. Good Luck!!!
