After the filter of course. My 1" ID braided tubing is getting crimped because I disconnect the tube from the pump when I travel. Is that not a good practice? I need a more flexible solution. Also, I'm using a garden quick connect. Any thoughts? Thanks.

I mentioned that to you when I first saw that CL.
The diameter of the qc is smaller than the diameter of the hose, making the supply entry smaller than the one incher.
What's your reason to disconnect during travel? I would think doing that would allow air to enter the line and make it harder to prime at start up.
Pipe it in and get rid of the garden hose connectors. Do that and you should be fine.
