hello guys, i would like to know what size lances you use in fleetwashing. i know different applications vary ????

I use wands/lances from 2.5' to 8' depending on the trucks. When they are tall and a lot of room between them, I will only use the 8' aluminum wands/lances.

When the trucks are shorter then I will use the shorter wands/lances.

When I did mostly fleets I was the same as Chris.

A 48" dual lance and a 8' dual lance . I can do all types of fleets with these. + you can use to lower the pressure for sensative areas of trucks.

I use 3 different sizes but only Carry 2 on the truck. I leave the 3rd one at the shop. It always seems like it's the 3rd one I need. LOL

i just stocked up on some stainless from 24" to 96" . we 2 step so stainless was our choice. so far im running straight wands, im thinking about putting a slight bend to them

don't even think twice about putting a bend in them. Just do it. It's amazing how much effort is saved by somthing so simple.

hey bears you bend them yourself or you buy them that way, i was gonna stick a rod in the i/d of the pipe and give it a kink . or use a pipe bender . i cant go too wild on the bend cause i wont be able to slide it down my pipe holders

get a 45* and try that out if its too much bend then bend the wand a bit and take off the 45* but thats gotta be worth something in fleet washing I would think

I bend them myself. Even a little bit of a bend helps. I had a small lance that came from a old car washing machine that seemed to have the perfect bend and I just copied that bend ever since.

Feedback: Some of our Fleetwashers use the PVDF nozzles for acid. They look like plastic nozzles. Some of them even make their own pvc wands. Lori

When we run our guns straight open and apply soap under pressure I use a 90degree 3/8elbow with a 3/8 quick connect one end for the hose and reduce the other end down to 1/4" for our wands. Works great and is real cheap.

Mostly 36" lances due to the tight quarters between vehicles. If you have the room go to a 48" or longer. For the bend i just stick the end in the bumper of ther trailer and give it a little angle. Not too much though as it will add a bit of stress to you as an operator if too much.

Thats exactly what our pipe bender is TOO!!
We also use 4' in tight quarters but prefer 6'

Does anyone buy their own grips or buy the lance with the molded grip??

We use both and also no grips at all. When we run with just bare metal wands we wear gloves to help with the heat.
If your handles slide wrap duct tape a few times around the wand then tighten the grip real good.
