I am sure this has been beat to death before but searching didn't get me far
I am going to be starting up this coming spring and want to know what everyone who does res. thinks is the min equip I will need. I am fairly sure on a pw a dewalt \ JD 4gpm, 3750psi home cheapo \ Lowes machine. and am looking for a cargo trailer seeing that it will have to sit outside I am going to get enclosed don't know what size yet.
I am on a buget but I plan on upgrading asap. I hope to do mostly house washing and roofs then getting into wood work. and I don't mind working a little harder with less equip till I get the work($$)

thanks all
Ray

I strongly suggest, even on a budget to get at least a 5.5 gpm beltdrive machine above anything else. Why? .... It cleans quicker!!! You may have to pay more but it can pay itself off in know time with the time you save. Talk to Bob at Pressure Tek, he can get you a Pressure Pro machine which the 5.5gpm are real good machines for a good price. It can be on wheels or mounted

Hose reel with enough hose - Surface cleaner - spare parts

Really go for the more gpm now. I had a few 4gpm machines for a few years and then when I got 5.5 I couldnt beleive how much quicker I could go and wished I had spent the money on the 5.5 when I started out.

There are several things that will make your PW biz easiier and more profitable, but nothing more than a 5.5 or larger gpm. I'd buy a smaller trailer than you want just so I could get more GPM machine

Good luck
Jeff

I would agree with Jeff. I started out with a 4 gpm direct drive. It doesn't cost that much more for a belt drive machine running 5.5 gpm or higher. Search the internet. Many suppliers run specials at years end when things slow down. If you wait until Spring to buy prices will go back up.

Talk to Bob at http://www.pressuretek.com He has some programs set up to help you get a lease program going. This is a great tax benefit for any business and will allow you to get the equipment you NEED to be professional and profitable.

I hear you all on the washer and will look in to that. how about wands types of fittings hoses and the smaller stuff I plan on doing mostly house washes and roofs to start. I don't plan to go fulltime right away wish I could but less then 20hrs a week to start so having the most productive equip right away isn't going to kill me I just want to get a idea on a lower cost chem pump for roofs and chem injectors tips and the small things that nickel & dime you.
I do want a belt drive high gpm pw but if I can get a good custmer base going I will jump as soon as I can but if I buy a lesser machine in the winter at a discount of say $700 vs $2500 right away that leaves me with more marketing $ to get started I am sure most would agree with me its better to have work and income then a shiney hipo machine sitting in the driveway and and a small back up would be good when I get enough biz to upgrade.
