Which nozzle is a 25025?

Alright! I got everything I need. I think this new hammerhead comes w 2502's, but I'm going with the 25025's as suggested. Thanks again!

I remember you like the blue surface cleaner from Northern Tool, what happened?

I'm not sure Chris. My guess it that it just crapped out. It was working slower and slower. The gun or hose could have been clogged or old, but either way, I got a brand new still in the box 20" GP Hammerhead from Northern for $250 out the door. Although no company is perfect, the people at my favorite Northern take good care of me. With the $150 I saved, I can get a 2 year replacement warranty for $75, with unlimited replacement claims - which is cheaper than any repair kit!

Hammerhead works great. I think my swivel exploded because I was using sodium hydroxide in my driveway cleaning mix for a while and the older model I had didn't have the splash guard that the newer ones do. When I got the swivel apart there was absolutely no grease left at all. Since you just got yours CL, you probably got the one with the three screws and the splash guard. I was careless and didn't make sure the hose was cleared of cleaner before I started up the surface cleaner. I am sure that had something to do with its demise.

Looks like it. Quick question, where does the grease go? What kind of grease?

Most of the swivels I have seen with a grease fitting were on the top or side of the swivel on top of the deck, if you don't see one then it does not have one, just repair or replace the swivel when it craps out.

Yeah, no grease fitting. You could take it apart and pack the grease by hand. Or just buy a swivel with a grease fitting. Im sure Russ can get it. Also CL. That swivel height is adjustable. You need an Allen wrench, not sure of size. The screw is on the side of the round port the swivel goes in on top. You might have to loosen one of the four screws on top also. I adjust the height so the spray pattern is as close to side of the hover cover as possible without hitting it. That way you can get very close to stuff like walls and driveway edges.

Let me know if I can help.

I posted this on the wrong thread:

Hey Russ, Guess who! What's the ticket on these swivels? I have to decide if the 1 year $50 or 2 year $80 - extended replaceable warranty is worth it!

Do you think part #16 on this illustration has to be removed for the swivel to be greased? I wonder why these instructions say to grease every so often?!?!

Part # 16 is a zerk fitting, our model doesn't have that.
It's because they sell two versions. Northern sells the sealed bearing version. They sell swivels with the grease fitting.

Hope-Shatterer...

Can you drill a hole in the top of the swivel and add a zerk fitting?

Nope. A channel has to be machined in the aluminum body to get the grease in between the bearings. The bearings in your swivel have seals on both sides. The ones in a geaseable swivel have one opened side that is up against the open side of the other with a very thin spacer in between. The channel for the grease empties in to this small space.

As Russ said you can just replace the bearings. Hey CL, I 'm pretty sure that you will do very good in this business and by the time that thing gives out you will be upgrading anyways...how's that for hope?

Now that's motivation!

For $100 more you can get a BE surface cleaner and those are better and last a hell of a lot longer.
The Swivels are better and can be greased, repaired or replaced no problem. Leak out of the weep hole indicates a bad o-ring and it doesn't happen after 20 hours use. Swap it out and you're back in business - not trashing the whole swivel.
Parts are easily accessible and I've purchased them before from Russ.
