why does my surface cleaner have a small spray bar?

used to.
Got 2 4 gpm machines running with russ' siamese kit for 8 gpms now

Do you Run your 3 bar with a 4 GPM?

I never have. I got the 3 bar when I was using two 4 GPM machines linked together. I have been using it with my new 7 GPM 2000 PSI setup though, and it works alright. I wouldn't be opposed to trying it with 4 GPM 4000 psi though. When you're using that much pressure on residential driveways, splitting the pressure might be a good idea. I wonder if you can get 25015 tips?

You cannot split the pressure, only the flow.

You can lower the pressure with the unloaders or use larger orifice nozzles.

So 4000 psi comes out of all 3 nozzles at the same time? It's not 1333 per nozzle?

You are cutting the nozzles in half(or a third in your case) pressure is dictated by size of nozzles. If all three nozzles add up to the the size that you are supposed to be at. Example a 4000 psi, 4 gpm machine uses a #4 tip. For a two nozzle bar, you use 2 # 2's that makes 4000 psi coming out of each tip. For a three bar you can only use 3 #2's so you are only going to get 2100 psi out of each nozzle.

I was under the impression that the flow changes. the pressure change or reduces a lot based on nozzle size, length of hose. I run a 4GPM and my hoses are 100' long. My spool has 250 on it. The 2 spray works well for me. I will stick with it. I do want an 8 GPM soon. I bid A nice condo complex, With the neighboring condo complex already being one of my customers. That is an 8 GPM for me.

How much PSI is really needed on concrete?

How much PSI is really needed on concrete?

With a good pre treat and some dwell time, not much. I did this one with my 7 GPM 2000 PSI machine. Anything over 3000 PSI seems to remove creme and/or leave etch marks.

I traded in my 4.6 gpm 3000 psi machine for a 5.5 gpm 2500 psi machine and concrete is my main deal. I think 2000 psi is plenty for residential concrete, like Josh said you start to remove the creme over 3000. I was having that problem at 2400 psi with my hammerhead SC. Now that I am using a classic I can go the full 2500 without scalping the creme at all. My 2500 psi machine is a great little residential unit. That 4000 psi was just an example, I would never use that on a driveway around here, without being prepared to resurface it!

I use 3500 on my whisper wash. I just keep it moving.
