X-Jet Problem ?

New member
I ordered the x-jet from x-terior, the manufacturer of the x-jet
and when I tried putting it on my gun the male end quick-connect
is about 1/8" too long, I had to go and buy a reg male plug and it
fit great. Then X-terior sent me a new stainless steel plug, I thought for
FREE since it didnt fit my gun, and they charged me for it, well
after getting the stainless plug, same thing 1/8" too long ?
anyone else have this problem with X-Jet ?

x-Jet problem

Rob,
When you say the male quick connect, are you talking about the male plug that screws into the back of the x-Jet?
This plug fits in a quick connect(the part with ball bearings) on the end of your lance(wand) All quick connects and plugs from the pump to the bottom of the gun are 3/8s. All quick connects and plugs from the gun to the end of your lance are 1/4s.
Check your O ring inside the quick connect on the end of your lance. You might have a split or broken one.
The plug on the X-Jet is a standard 1/4"
nipple.

Tried Generic

Hey Ron,
I looked at the O-ring and all was OK, took to PW repair shop
and the guy said I just needed a new male nipple, he screwed
it into the end of the Xjet and all was good, then I got yours
the stainless steel male nipple and once again it is too long ?
By about 1/8th, maybe my gun is just set up different, ? I got
it from Delco, so if Delco is selling the X-jets, they should test one
on the same gun they sold me, because that fitting does not
fit that gun, I had 3 different PW mechanics look at it ?

there are two different types of male plugs (if i am reading your post correctly) one is for air tooling and the other is for pressure wahing make sure you have the right ones.

ron p/ ron s

for what a x-jet cost's why dont you sell them with the stainless plugs to begin with?
Who sell's the high pressure in line water filters with stainless plugs? Who sells just the screen's?
Ron s Why dont you have a small LAMINATED card with the proportioners? Also no one likes to rinse with the supply hose hooked to the x-jet and if you disconnect it from the valve the cleaner will siphon out and kill the grass. You either need to valves or what i would want.
A PLASTIC[LIGHTWEIGHT] QUICK DIDCONNECT THAT STOPS THE FLOW WHEN DISCONNECTED.
So i want a plastis coated card-a light weight QD that stops siphoning-a stainless plug-the close range tip-and 1 extra orfaice[rebuild kit]
Call it a deluxe pkg if you want and charge for it if you have to but make it available.
I am not trying to tell you how to run your buissness, i am trying to make things better for the user.
If you can come up with a lam. thing-a-ma-bob to hold the little proportioners and have the info on what one to use then you just hit a home run.
I dont want a bunch of special stuff to shoot truck wash
I want it to be more convienent to hook on the x-jet to apply soap and acid.

the disconnects you are looking for are used in motorcycle roadracing, and are very cheap,do a search and i bet you will find them. good idea

Hi Steve

i have used the x-jet long enuff where i really dont need most of the stuff i posted about but could see it really adding to the value of the product.
With all these contractors useing 12 volt pump's and 5 diffent kinds of chems,Why dont you sell these self sealing QD?[air line type]
This seems to be right up your alley.
Also if i just wanted to buy 10 orffices the same size[to apply the atlas] could i but them that way or do i need to buy 10 set's of them?
5 gpm 3/8ths supply and 3000 psi
what color do you recomend at full strangth?
these air line type would seem to be much safer then they type i now use.
I am guessing this is the type that this thread was started over?
Now, i would have thought that they had too much restriction for a 3000 psi pump but they are used on hyd. lines for snow plows.

Is this the xjet that you showed me in St. Louis?

You requested some information form me by email - I have compile some data for you - expect it soon.

I would like to discuss that account in Farmington - if the offer is still there. I have networked in St. Louis and have some commercial accounts that are very close to being set up in hopes to setting up a franchise - I do not want the 2hr drive at this time and the franchise is still in the works, so I may have a proposal for you - if you are interested in sub contracting.

Give me a call - I'll will be in Memphis TN for the next couple of days on a business trip.

I never use the proportioner. I just adjust my mixture ratio depending on the job.

Proportioners

We have the proportioners as 5 packs of individual colors. I have them listed on our web site. Many items for the X-jet are there too. Sounded like these are the things you are looking for.
