Iphone tethering is awesome!!

Using the phone as a modem. If you have 3G/4G on your phone, by tethering you will be able to get good speed internet on your computer. Tethering for Iphone was restricted by ATT. You also should be aware of the data transfer, since ATT have limited data transfer on their data plans.

Data usage is the only drawback. It costs $20 per month, on top of the $30 for the "unlimited" data plan, thru Verizon for 2GB of data tethering or hot spotting if you will. If you go above that you're at the mercy of the billing gods.
 
ATT wants $45 a month to enable the tethering feature on my plan, ouch!
 
I have Wifi tethering on my Incredible. I use it a lot, and have not been hit on my bill. I have never heard the 2gb limit on Verizon. I have heard of 5gb, and that is a LOT of internet usage.

I am with verizon and have the 2G package. I did have a 5g package but they quit offering it. I will see how far the 2G goes...

I have a Rock flip phone. Im not sure about all of the specifics but its not nearly as fast as my home internet and it loses connection often. Its convenient but a pita at the same time.
