interesting conversation today

Scott Stone

New member
One of my employees came in today and said, "Scott, my paycheck is a little short on the take home today."
I said,"how much?"
"$12.00, why is it short?"
"Congratulations, welcome to being a millionaire."

I don't get it.

Nobody cares about the millionaires. So the powers that be decided to take some more of their money to pay for those that don't pay their own way. But the powers that be made such a big stink about the greedy rich people millionaires that the sidewalk cleaner didn't realize that they were going to take from his pocket too.

So the man that works for a living is now lumped in the same category as the greedy millionaires and must pay his fair share, which just happens to be more than before.

Thats the 2% payroll tax reduction being taken off. But of course Obama promised not to raise taxes for anyone but the rich....

I was listening to the radio today and the whitehouse chef said that the president has to buy his own food. I would never had thought that.

I can assure my conversation happened, multiple times.

No I was being sarcastic to

Forgot the quote, don't worry Scott I had the same conversations with my help. It was more than 12 bucks for a couple

If I thought for one minute that paying higher taxes would help our Country overcome the problems that taxpayers didn't create to begin with, I'd be all up in it......but guess what, it's just more money to throw away by politicians.
Yes I agree the same If it was to help this country and we aren't the cause of it and its sink or swim as a nation.
So another avenue would be to get to know some politicians if you can. What I learned at least is our Gov't is a system that's in place. You as a citizen have a right to vote so your always going to be dealing with a politicians in one way or another. If you vote only that's your connection to the politician. If the opportunity ever arrives you can try to "work the system". Get the politicians to get off there backsides... Trying to reinvent the system(Hint hint---good luck) is not a viable option.

Here's some recent pictures where I'm now in Powerwashing only but I still stay connected and have my calling cards.

Pic #1 I'm in between Senator Alphonse Damato(Known him for years) and County executive Ed Mangano

Pic #2 Independence Party Chair Frank Mackay(Known him for years) who is a guy just about everyone would like here and hey since he's connected with my Favorite musical group growing up which was the Ramones he connects alot of dots in my life. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Independence_Party_of_New_York

Pic #3 -#4 Knocking on the House chair of Homeland Security Peter King a little over a year ago and succeeding(lost something here on a technicality but will be back again)(Also known Peter King for years).

And to add If I understood Scott's post correctly--When he responds "Welcome to being a Millionaire" and what Charlie Soden points out is correct.. You could be a Millionaire or not--Your taxes just went up.

I don't believe that for one minute, not doubting you, just the person saying it on the radio and the person that told him and that person that told that person all back to the source. I would not believe it if I heard it from the source himself, just more lies like usual from most politicians.

I heard some interviews 10 or so years ago that new congressmen into office have so much money coming in that they don't know what to spend it on and later on during office, they start crying poverty and how they cannot feed their families on what they make and when they retire they don't know what to spend the money on as they have so much besides their retirements. Wow.

That was pretty much the norm yrs ago. You would be hard press to find that today.. Might be still happening somewhere.
One of the things that happens today is "Pork barrel" spending which serves special interest. There's lobbyist that who know how to bring in money for whatever the interest are.
Politicians in most cases have sweet Pensions. In my case I have a decent pension and in our system here we have over $120,000,000,000 in it. That billions.

I also worked for a private area... But in all fairness Chris the system is crumbling. I get harpooned when I say this to some others..

This is another thing that can be debated to death, but it's what you actually do about it and what others do about it that really matters.

Look for brains in certain areas. Get a group to unite in let's say what you believe in. The power is in numbers. It could be as small as 10 or as large as 100,000 and on up. Now you have a voice. Now you go in and study the system and what can work.. Then you work it..
