Do you think that DS house wash mix will clean the mold/dirt streaks on the building?
Can I down stream with 500 feet of hose?
Do you think F9 will clean the sprinkler rust on the brick? ( can I spot treat it?)
Whats a good product for efflorence removal and can I spot treat it on the brick?

I appreciate any advice.... Thanks.

Hi Connor,

I'll let the mold and siding guys answer your dirt streaks question.

For the rust, mix F9 1:1 up to 2:1. Pre-clean first before application of F9 and rinse F9 off as soon the the rust stains disappear. F9 should also work on those calcium stains. 1:1 or a little stronger, scrub with stiff nylon broom (small ones) and rinse. Repeat if necessary.. calcium can take a few applications.

1) Downstreaming your mix on the mold and mildew will help, but you will need to use a low pressure rinse nozzle to go over it and get it completely clean.
2) when using 500 ft hose, set your injector at the last 100ft closest to your gun, or consider using an xjet as another option as you will be able to get a little stronger mix on the surface. It all depends on how much of the building you are cleaning.
3) Yes to the F9 for the rust.
5) Not sure what you are saying is efflorescence on brick. Pic # 3 look's more like calcium (hard water stains) from the sprinkler system and F9 should take care of that or One Restore from Eaco Chem.

I think your biggest concern are the stains in Pic 1...do you have a pic of that from a little further out showing the whole wall?? Or is that the section with the school lettering in it.

Looks like I am seeing 5 or 6 different types of surface in pic 2 ??? Don't see that a lot, especially on a public school

Umm, What they said. ^…………

Im confused. If you advertise you are a Restoration Cleaner then these jobs certainly come under your expertise with the exception of F9. You can downstream without pulling through 500' of hose.

Andy,

We do 98 % residential. Lots of vinyl houses. Very little demand for commercial work around here. Knowing that some of you do much more commercial work, I thought I would ask. I have used f9 with great results, just have not used it on brick before.

Thanks guys for the advice !

Understand. I too am un familiar with F9. I tried a small sample sent with an order with no instructions or label. It worked some but not like I hoped. I mixed it. After talking with Craig we believe the sample was pre mixed.
I can easily down stream with 250' of hose with certain injectors. You could install your injector inline closer to your application

Ummmm...copy cat

It was easier.

Just to add my 2 cents in...Why are you using 500 ft of hose? Not sure what kind of machine your working with but that is a lotta line. Remember, your going to lose psi and gpms with that much. This is why I like having portable machines on my rig. I can take them off and wheel them to wherever I need them when the job requires it.

Larry to u use 8gpm portable? Asking because I would like to have an 8gpm for concrete and I use skid and portable units.
No, I only use 4 GPM machines. You could always tie them in together but you would need a water source to handle the 8 GPM.

The reason why I may need as much as 500 ft, is the first floor roof goes way in before the 2nd story starts, as you can see from pic 2. I usually run 300 feet with no problem DS, So if I run 500 ft, will it not DS or just not work as well?

We have had trouble ds with over 300 feet of hose and one solution we have had good luck with is to get a small 1 to 2 gpm 12 volt pump to put in between your soap bucket and injector, if it senses the slightest draw it will force that amount of soap into your line.

JBurd this piqued my interest. I would like to know what setup you use for this.

So why not just move the injector up to the last 100 or 200 ft of hose nearest the gun??? Is there something I am missing??

I'm starting to think an XJet would just solve all your issues and make life a whole lot easier. I have tried pulling from 350 ft before with little to no resuts. Try what Doug suggested. I've never done it that way but it may just work. I'm just thinking their may not be enough pressure at that distance to open the venturi to allow a Chen draw. I could be wrong. Where is Paul Kassandra or Russ Johnson. They need to chime in on this one.

The downside of moving your injector off the truck is the same downside with the xjet...you have to haul around your soap bucket. Not a huge deal but any small 12v pump will solve downstreaming problems. When you shut off your machine you do have to remember to cut power to the 12v sprayer before you disconnect your wand from the hose cause otherwise your 12v sprayer will fill the hose with chems.

Buy a small wagon that will at least hold a 50 gallon tote or at the very least, a 30 gallon.
