How much would you bid this for?

I need to submit an annual bid on 17 hotels here in Denver. They want everything cleaned, including sidewalks, exterior of building, dumpster area and staircase.

13,175 SQ FT - SIDEWALKS
846 LINEAR FT - BUILDING (3 STORIES)
1 - DUMPSTER AND DUMPSTER PAD
3 - STAIRCASES

My bid was approximately $3,500 for this one hotel.

Do you think my bid is too high??

I'm not sure without seeing the hotel. How long do you think it would take? I live in Northern VA and pricing i think is higher out here. Do you have to get a lift? If you think your high then stand tall and justify the price. tell him your different from the other 2 quotes because.,...don't take no for answer " listen Mr Property manager....how far away are we here? because my pricing is alligned with that of the Industry Standard for exterior cleaning....I hope your not about to get into bed with a hack..." *maybe say it a little nicer**

That would be hard to do , without seeing it. The lift access would be the biggest factor.

Good point. If you have to rent a lift, that is probably way to cheap.

The other question is what are you really bidding on...
A. a bid for this ONE hotel or
B. a contract for all 17 hotels

Don't let them trick you into thinking you will automatically get all 17 if you give a good price on a one time deal.

Matt - Bids were due on that on Friday. I already submitted ours. YOU NEED TO LOOK AT ALL 17......BECAUSE 5 OF THEM NEED LIFTS!!!!
AND THEY ARE NOT ALL THE SAME LAYOUT, SOME ARE 1 BLDG, SOME ARE 3 BLDGS, SOME ARE BRICK SOME ARE STUCCO, SOME ARE 2 STORIES AND SOME ARE 4 STORIES.... NATE AND I SPENT 2 DAYS DRIVING AND MEASURING FOR THIS BID.

Good Luck. I was told bid was to be awarded tomorrow.

Also, didnt think it was annual, this is just to get them clean for the DNC. They have alot of bids on the table from what I have been told. When I submitted last week she had 4 others in already. Hurry up and get yours in!!

The GM said depending on how this goes they may consider it annually. They had 6 bids and mine was twice the highest bid. I already submitted my bid two weeks ago I was thinking of reconsidering my bid and wanted to see if maybe I priced this too high. I won't work for what the illegals with a home depot washer will. If they want a rinse down I will underbid everyone and go out their with a garden hose. I will find the customers willing to pay for quality work. This company can accept the lowest bid, I know they will because that's how these types of bids always go.

Matt - would you have been able to do the 17 buildings before the August 16th deadline? We estimated we could clear 1 building per day running our 2 machines, 4 buildings would take 2 days because they are 3 buldings each. Plus you have to allow time to do the 2 buildings in the springs.

If they have someone start next Monday that gives them 27 days to complete it.

So 21 days of work out of 27 available and that is running 2 machines. Plus you have to allow for any interuptions. One time we had an aerial lift delay us 6 hours.

If my bid was approved which would be highly doughtful I would put together another rig. I'm full time I can work 7 days a week up until the deadline. I would have to put deck restoration off for awhile or hire a few other people. If you wanted to help knock these out that would be fine too. But I'm not going to predict a lottery drawing here that I'll win this bid and the odds are against me due to price.

We put in our contract that we could clean from 9:00 AM until 7:00 PM

Even if the hotel management allowed that (doubtful) you would have a heck of a time dealing with people checking in and out.
