"W" had the option to Pardon them or commute their sentences. We begged for over a year for the commutation, since a pardon would not leave them an option to appeal the original (railroaded) convictions.
Not a big fan of "W", but he did do the right thing in the end, and from what I know of the ongoing legal on goings, I think you all will be amazed of what is revealed when the truth is disclosed.
Nacho was up for Agent Of The Year, the same year he was thrown under the bus by Bush and Johnny (Satan) Sutton. Johnny Sutton could very well find himself in the same prison Federal prison cell when this is a done deal.
Most people don't know that these 2 great American Law Enforcement Officers spent their time as political prisoners in solitary confinement, not even allowed a TV, as the rest of the Federal prisoner population is allowed. Only a transistor radio, books and 1 hour a day to exercise in a 10' x 10' concrete cage, then afforded a shower 3 times a week. All for doing the job they were sworn to do.
The drug smuggler who Nacho shot in the ass after he fired shots at his partner, Jose Compean, fled to Mexico. Johnny Sutton sent Agents to Mexico to find Osvaldo Aldrete-Davila. They brought him back to America, coached him and made him testify against thees 2 BP Agents, after receiving free medical care for the bullet wound in his ass. He also received a "get out of jail free card" pass from US Attorney Johnny Sutton. Osvaldo Aldrete-Davila was caught 3 times before he actually testified against these 2 BP Agents smuggling more dope, and was let go, because of the "get out of jail free card" Johnny Sutton gave him.
After he testified, Osvaldo Aldrete-Davila was caught once again. This time he was convicted and is serving 9 years in Federal prison.
We held a fund raising event during their first year incarcerated; raised $42,000 during the one day event, held here in the Phoenix area. To date, well over $100,000 has been donated to the families and to their legal defense fund.
This past Christmas, Nacho was granted a travel pass (he is still under Federal release supervision) to travel from the Houston area back to his home town of El Paso, to spend the Holidays with his extended family and friends. Some POS broke into their vehicle while they spent the night at a motel in between Houston and El Paso and stole all the Christmas packages they had in their truck. We issued a Call To Action and raised just over $5000 in less than 48 hours, so this man and his family could enjoy there first Christmas together since his wrongful imprisonment.
When Nacho was first released from prison, while Monica and the children waited for him at the airport, some terrorist fire bombed their home in El Paso and decapitated their family dog, leaving the head on top of the mail box. Bet you never heard those details on the nightly news.
Jim that is a wild story, glad to see "W" took care of them!
I think the thing that blows me away, is how people ignore first and foremost that if you are here illegally, you have committed a crime. You hear about these people demanding all these rights. What rights? You have no rights! Rights are afforded through the constitution for the American citizens. Not for people here illegally. And racism? C'mon! Political correctness is what allowed the tragedy at Ft. Hood to happen. Way too much smoke n mirrors and not enough of a reality check!
