Feed reel under flatbed?

oh my gosh! I hope you dont have to have surgery. That looks bad.
I got a little carried away doing dishes a week ago. I cut the same finger and I didnt get stitches so it keeps opening back up when I work but its healing.
Take it easy for a while! I see you picked up a 7.3 ...
 
That looks like it hurts, Wow.

Had the grinder locked in the on position and it snagged and flipped on me i. A split second.

I feel like a wimp though. I remember at twelve years old working with my uncle James on a condenser coil. He was pointing at a taped connection to be aware of and stuck his finger in the fan. Opened it up straight down to the bone. He just licked it clean, wrapped it tight in a rag and finished the days work. Took some antibiotics and taped it with duct tape and gauze till it healed, no stitches, no doctor.

James is 83 years old now. His hands are like a catchers mitt. He still services hvac equipment 30 hrs a week because he likes it. He is an inspiration and my hero. He is a big part of why I am an entrepreneur and why I chose HVAC work.

That's a "reel" important point..
The boxes under the bed and reels up above is definitely better insurance..
and keeping side-boxes out of the way of serviceability on your equipment is better.
..I do more overhead hose reel racks than under-bed mounted reels ..by a far.

Scratch? Your kidding, right George? I bet he wishes it was just a scratch. I hate to see this has happened Tony.I won't go into detail but I cut the end of my left thumb on a table saw to the bone. PITA! I hope you don't have the same end result I have! Praying for Healing!

Chris, believe it or not I got the truck from a dealer. This last auction didn't have what I was looking for. This dealer deals in work trucks that he buys from bankruptcy and bank auctions. I wanted a gas fueled truck, but this one was already set up the way I wanted and the price was right.

We approached it in the same way we usually do all larger purchases and prayed about it first, asked God for a specific assurance as to whether it was the right purchase or not and he responded in a definitive way. I won't go into any more details about that, but I am confident our prayers were answered and this truck was the right move.
 
I have had guys get there arm carving merit badge before. That is an ugly wound. Take it easy and make one of the kids do the work.

Here are some of the new things I plan on putting on this truck:

A one inch feed line from the water tank to a female cam lock mounted on a panel on the back of the flatbed for hooking up to the cold washer mounted on the lift. The cold water feed and pressure washer line will be hard piped from the pressure washer down the length of the lift with about 2 ft of flex line at the front for connecting to the panel. Currently we manually hook up a 12 ft section of hose every time. Half the time it wants to leak.

A 3/8 inch female coupling on the panel to run pressure line from the lift cold water unit leading back to the pw hosereel with shutoffs to easily use either unit or both combined for up to 12 gpm. Have been doing this manually with by hooking up a 25 ft hose to one way splitters. Shutoffs would be faster.

A waterproof twistlock 120v outlet with a switch so I can choose to charge the Lift while in operation either via the generator on the PW or the 3000w inverter depending on whether we are using hot water or not. We've already been doing this manually, but a switch would be safer and faster.

A 28 inch wide electric reel with 200 ft of 1/2 inch + 300 ft of 3/8 then split into two 200 ft lines of 1/4 inch for two operators to run simultaneously up to 400 ft apart. This is iffy. I don't know if that 1/4 inch will birdsnest on us when we drop it off the building to roll up.

I'll also be putting sides up on the flatbed to keep filters in place without having to tie everything down.

Hopefully all this will come together by next week so I can get this thing out on the road making some money!

That is a cool setup with the hose reels under the bed and behind the bumper, I don't think I have seen that before.

We've used lifts from the beginning. It saves us time getting on the roofs. Also helps speed up installations. I've had this once since 2007 or 2008.
