Generators

Lights, battery charger, shurflo pump, power tools. Not all at the same time. maybe some at the same time.

I shopped for one last year and found that Onan was the one for me. They are a very popular and well respected company.
As far as watts and amps, that is based on what you use it for and what you might use in the future. You will need to check out all of your current stuff and consider what you would like to add in the future and check on the specs for each item.

120 volts X Amps = watts
Watts divided by 120 = Amps

It has been said that once you figure your total amps /watts that you should double that to get your Generator size. This is to account for start up of equipment.

I have a Coleman powermate pro 6000 watts that I bought at Home Depot for 499.99. I have had it for a year now, no problems, starts on one pull even in 0 degree weather. I run it 2-5 hours a day. It powers an air compressor, shop vac and High speed buffer all at once. it can run 12 plus hours on one tank of gas

I 've had good luck with Honda.

Hey Ron, I fooled around with your profile pic.
