Wow, that is horrible. Whenever I think about what is going on down there it makes me ill. This is like death, it is horrible but that fact that it's happened cannot be undone.

Do you ever think they will get it anywhere near back to normal?

Man thats bad. You know they have a solution but wont do it. Why you ask well I can answer that. One thing I do know is that it sucks A** for the one that are living with it.

Hope your not affected by it to much Russ
I live there now, we have been waiting for 4 years to make this move. Effect me? Not yet but it will effect the entire area soon.

Do you ever think they will get it anywhere near back to normal?

They??? meaning BP. HELL no.

It will NEVER be the same in our precious gulf again.

Even the pics Russ posted don't tell of the underlying damage.

The oil that you see on the water and that made it ashore is the "lightest" of the crude.

Eventually, some will be carried off to the East coast in the loop current.
But the worst part is what we don't see. The "heavy" crude that is looming below the surface choking the sea life ( and MY marlins) . It will settle in some spots outside of the loop current ( meaning all states in the gulf coast), suffocating all life it comes in contact with. It will also end up on the mexico side as well. Causing the same damage to our "Mexican Riviera".

These are my numbers from just crunching a bit.
240,000,000 gallons in 48 days.

By the time BP gets the relief wells finished in Aug ( that's a lie) in 85 days, it will have leaked 665,000,000 gallons. That's right.... over a half a BILLION gallons in MY ( our) gulf.

BP claims to be recapturing 5-50 % of the leak with only one vent of the "cap" closed off. Well, that just shows how ACCURATE they are. There are 3 vents on the cap and if they close them all, the pressure will blow the cap off and even more will gush out since they had to cut off the "crimped" pipe that was at least restricting SOME of the flow, to put the cap on.

When you look at the oil cams BP has in place, it actually looks as if MORE oil is flowing since the placement of the cap. They say they are recovering 14000 BARRELS a day. A barrel is 42 gallons.

Let me be the first to call "BULLSH&T" on those stats.

This hasn't even started yet folks.
The gulf is all but DEAD and all but memories now.

The first dead birds have ooozed ashore on our beloved beaches here in Texas. It's time for some "Rattlesnake Justice" :nhl_checking: here in Texas.

Especially since BP is based here in Houston.

Leak my A$$. this is an underground GUSHER. A geyser. A death flow.

The only accurate media released was just within the past few days when the stats show that the mess will be around for DECADES. DECADES.

Not until the Fall like Gen. Thad and BP say. DECADES.:yikes:

The down side is that the U.S. is only one demographic for the money hungry upper echelon. They drill all over the world. So unfortunately this incident will not stop them from RAPING our world and possibly effing up another part of our beautiful landscape and throwing money at the problem to make us believe they are FIXING it.

:yikes:

My heart goes out to all who are directly and "about to be " directly affected.

The spin doctors are hard at work folks.

"Hearing" is not believing, but seeing IS.

The good folks in Houston are "Gulf People". We love our gulf.
We DON'T love BP.
Personally I feel they should keep their rear view mirrors nice and clean, so they can see the mob mentality that is about to beat their A$$ coming up from behind.

BP should not be allowed to operate anywhere ever again.
Obama is simply a Talking Head and always has been and always will be.
BP are professional spin doctors who actually hire professional spin doctors to spin their spins. Geez. And all of them share the same bed.

I promise you, if this gusher kills our beaches, Texans will be on the war path.
We won't wait for BP or Barrack "insane" No- Bama to take action.
We will berm our own damn shores.

BP and Uncle Obama have already proven they don't even own a pair of track shoes to move swifter. Just spin spin spin.

Sorry Russ, didn't mean to hijack thread.
But in my opinion, that is my answer to the question in quotes.
GOD BLESS TEXAS, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Florida and the Mexican Riviera.

Let's get to work.:moil:

Hurricane season is here and will soon stir up the brew and spew it everywhere. Good Post !!

Where did you end up moving to?
About 15 miles from you! I looked for you the other day in Daphne, saw your van over by Home Depot in the shopping center next to it and called your number and it went straight to voice mail.

I am less tha 1/10 of a mile from Fairhope High School on Pemberton Loop

I thought you were not supposed to be within 1000 feet of a school

I feel the same as you, I feel ill when I think about it and see it. Its almost like we are all complacent. I feel there should be marching, protesting in the streets of Washington, BP headquarters and more. 1/2 a billion gallons and counting. This is people livelyhood going down the tubes, not just one little area, its hurting and will hurt all of our country. I just don't know

This lake is toooooooooo small for a big fish like you........... Call me when you get time and we'll have lunch. Fairhope is a neat little town. It's a lot different than Prattville. Hope you are enjoying your new home.

It truly makes you sick to see the destruction of our environment and the lost livelyhoods. I can't even watch the videos of the wildlife struggling to not only breath but just stand. It pisses me off that this was caused by billionaires just not caring for anything but the all mighty dollar. I think the government should freeze all their assests and shut them down and prosecute all involved in the decisions that led to this disaster. better yet put them in the bayou and let some mad fisherman bust their ass.

Sooooo you were a NO SHOW in Florida.... What happened to " I'm moving to Florida?"

Well, get ready to march Jeff, and have your peasants blow the trumpet, because when the oil gets mixed into the loop current there is a HIGH HIGH liklihood of it affecting EVERY STATE on the east coast as well. It may take a while to get there, but,at the rate BP is moving to "fix" this, it will reach your shores in the Carolinas before they are through scratching each others' scrotums and dancing with Paul Mcartney. At least that may light a fire under the asses of govt and get them moving faster since it ( the oil) will be in their neck of the woods.

It seems they could really give a spit about all of us here in the gulf.
I hate BP FOREVER. However this is not about the politics Uncle Slobama and BP are spinning it up to be. It's about saving OUR GULF. THIS is what's real Life, not the effing politics ( however much you enjoy engaging in those politicol conversations).

Dumb A$$ Obama declined help from the Saudis ( and other offers of humanitarianism) who are EXPERTS in oil skimming and recovery. He also declined two oil sea vessles that are designed just for this type of MONUMENTAL EFF UP BP has thrown on our shores.
Each ship holds several millions of gallons with seperation units.

Let me see,...... who's week is it to change the "stained" bedsheets????? BP or Richard head Obama.

I pretty much hate them both.

While the BP CEO is whining about " wanting his life back".

C'mon over here CEO I'll give you your life............ into enternity.

Get your fishing pole out now Jeff , or King , or whatever your title is these days.
Catch as many fish as you can while they are not contaminated full of benzene or dead and bloated.

If BP and uncle Odumba don't get it together really quick, your beaches will be just as black as ours this time next year, or even sooner.

Sorry for venting so violently folks, this is just killing me, really bad.

"Excuse me sir, could you give me directions to the DEAD SEA"?
Sure son, just go south............anywhere south.

...and the second angel poured his vial into the sea.........

This is awful folks, and we haven't seen anything yet.

I know it will be coming this way, I know it will effect our whole country, thats why I wrote it. I have no idea what your talking about me engaging in politco conversations, I was stating my feeling, maybe you didn't understand what I wrote, wasn't political at all

ABC, you can call me whatever you like or nothing at all, whatever you feel like is fine:eek:k:

I know BP doesnt give a spit about the Gulf, its just a piece of their business they think, they just think the USA is another division of BP and this is why I made the statement march on their home turf.

Have a good one ABC...Jeff The King lol lol

Jeff is the Master !!'s

Adrian I didnt hear about the oil skimming ships being declined. I dont care if the dotheads help its about time they reciprocated.
Yes Greg it's true.

Not to mention that offers of help were declined from south America as well.
They have vast experience with clean up and skimming knowledge that they learned the hard way due to their own disaster a few years back.

I believe, their total recovery was in the area of 60%. But they managed through QUICK action.

And uncle dumbo declined their offer as well.
The same way BP has declined tens of thousands of suggestions from scientist', engineers contractors and the common lay person with a great idea.

I guess he figures a thousand people trained "literally overnight" in little bity tar balls recovery will suffice for the shores of the entire gulf.

Yep ...... he declined the help. We have BP ( loud echo in the background)
on the scene. we don't need no Saudis help.

There are better, more capable people other than Dumbama and BP that could have curved this disaster along time ago, if BP and Dimwit would let them through the door. People who could have actually made a quicker impact with a REAL solution.

IMO, there is no "one" surefire fix for this disaster now.
We ( again IMO) need to employ as many effing ideas and applications as possible that do not further harm what (if anything) that is left.

Hay and dry ice do no harm on the shores or the surface.
To me, those are great ideas. Why not use them.

Here is stupid= Richard head Obama,& EPA autho'd the use of a dispersant that is BANNED in the USA. How freaking stupid is that.
As if the oil itself is not bad enough. Let's add fuel to the fire.
Oh hell, let's just catch it all on fire and screw up the sky while we are at it.

But yes, he declined the help of real skilled professionals in the oils skimming business.:smash:
